I have just returned from a 6 day/2000 mile tour of Southern Germany and I'm presently suffering severe saddle soreness. I have the standard two piece saddle fitted to my 1250 GS and had a sheep skin cover over the seat. Despite this, the pain during the latter half of the trip was agonising. I have not experienced anything similar since I did a tour of Ireland on my old 1150 GS many years ago.
With future long range trips planned, I would be most grateful for any "very comfortable" after market seat recommendations from like affected riders. Thanks.

I’ve got one here I had made, I’ll send you a message in the morning

I had a Bagster comfort seat on my 1200, most comfortable seat I've ever tried, even the main dealer commented that it was probably the best they'd tried.

I found coolcovers help a lot both with the standard seat and the rallye seat.

Motoskiveez and Chinese CoolCovers

On My KTM I have their comfort seats too. Was suffering with similar pain as did you. The above items seem to have sorted this.

To me the standard GSA seat is a joke, its so soft it is unsupportive. I believe that for comfort over distance you actually need a firm supportive base.

I have used Sargent on both my GSA's (a 2008 and a 2019), currently I have a heated Sargent on my 1250GSA with knock-off Chinese "cool covers" from AliExpress that work a treat. I can't see how they can justify the stupid prices for genuine cool covers when its just woven mesh textile with an elasticated waist.

The beauty of the Sargent seats is that they have a pressure relief area beneath the Coccyx, an area where I otherwise get pain and numbness over time (especially with an enlarged Prostate). I can't vouch for other aftermarket seats as I haven't used them, but no doubt they are an improvement over the stock blob of foam that BMW supply.

Are the Wunderlich AktiveKomfort seats any good?

I'm thinking of replacing my standard seats on the GSA with them. The current standard 1250 GSA seats are nowhere near as good as what the comfort seats on my 1250 GS were.

Comfort high seat with a cool covers on , I do wear leather trouser and feel that adds a lot to the mix as well. Long stints on m ways can also cause issues as no bum movement.

I've got the BMW comfort seat and a sargent i bought off this site. Both work ok but comfort is improved further if you use the high front low rear as many suggest. Some discomfort sets in on all day rides but it just seems to reach a level and not get any worse. I used to experience the sort pain your getting with the standard GSA seat when it wasn't set to high / low, it was so bad i couldn't wait to get off the thing.
If it were me i'd try the high low route first and if that's no better maybe keep any eye open for a good sargent or comfort seat, i've seen both either on here or e bay.
