Well, the story is that the run will start in the Phoenix Pk on Oct 23rd and go to Donegal via the old N3 as much as possible. Lunch in Enniskillen and overnight in Donegal town. Then on the second day, the 24th it's on to the North visiting the Giants Causeway, the Antrim Coast and then to Belfast.

I'm trying to finalise details for a hotel in Donegal town, I will update this with the hotel shortly.

The plan is to assemble at 10am for a 10.30 departure. Paddy Guerin from Cork will be there with his 1924 Henderson.

There's more info at www.horizonsunlimited.com/clancy

There's a Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/CSClancyCentenaryRun If you're on Facebook, log on and "Like" it - if not pass on the link to anyone you know.

And there's an event page at http://www.facebook.com/events/352238664855687/ where you can indicate if you will join the event.

TrevMcDev is making up a replica pennant like the one Clancy carried on the trip and this will be passed on as the trip progresses.

Even if you can only do a small part of the run, at any stage of it, that would be great. If not then maybe you could just come along to the start and wave us off. The main thing is to remember the great man and what he started 100 years ago.

Gutted it's on a Tuesday:(:(

We won't be able to go:( hopefully I'll get into town to wave ye off:thumb

Yeah Mide, it would have been great if it fell on a weekend but given that the whole idea is to mark the centenary we'll have to go with the 23rd. Still, if you can come along to the start that'll be great :thumb

Absolutely Feargal:thumb2 It's a fantastic achievement to have organised it all:clap

I'll do my best to get into Phoenix Park:bounce1

For anyone doing the Irish leg, we will overnight in Donegal town on the 23rd Oct, staying at the Abbey Hotel. They have quoted me a rate of €45 per person sharing for B&B and €50 single room B&B. Ref when making a booking is FEON.

The phone no is +353 (0)74 9721014. Secure overnight parking is available in an adjoining bank carpark but I need to know the numbers for this so please post on here if you're going or click on the Facebook Events page at http://www.facebook.com/events/352238664855687/ and click the "Join" button.

The Central Hotel (close to the Abbey) have quoted the same rates but don't seem to have access to the secure parking so if you're planning on going get in contact with the Abbey asap.

Bar food will be available and people I've spoken to seem to prefer this approach to an organised sit-down meal, so that's what we'll do. And maybe a few lemonades after :thumb

Any chance of meeting point(s) / approx times, for the Antrim coast bit (Wed 24th Oct) - I would be keen to come up from Carrickfergus direction and join in for a while ...:beerjug:

Emailed you Feargal the day you contacted me, have a couple of queries :thumb

That'd be brilliant, Cortina. I imagine we'll be along to the Antrim coast in the afternoon or early evening of the 24th. I'm thinking of getting a Twitter thing going so that I could post up that we are now in such-and-such a place or that we are now leaving wherever. We'll work something out - if it comes down to it I could send you a text if you want to PM me your no ;)

Pennant making is in full swing!! V excited to be working on these :roll:JB:bounce1:JB:roll
