The continuing saga of a garmin 2610. For some quiet Sunday
Afternoon enjoyment decided to set up my shiny new 2610
With my starcom system low and behold it was a disaster
Audio seemed to be distorted and sow low you could
Hardly hear it. First assumption I was doing something stupid
(not unheard of) so to the computer and the font of all
Knowledge and got a sensible reply from ovenpaa
Who had same problem only to realise later that the
Lead that I have is the right one from starcom.

Back to the drawing board thought I would check
To make sure everything was working O.K. with
The gps so out to the car plug every thing in and
Low and behold No B*** sound so now the whole unit
Has to go back to Garmin.

Any one else had similar problems?

WHY CANT LIFE BE SIMPLE?????:spitfire :spitfire

I know this sounds obvious but have you turned the sound on, on the unit :nenau

When I first got my 2610 there was no sound in the Autocom etc. I realised you have to press and hold the speak/volume key on the unit until a sliding volume scale pops up on the screen. Then you adjust the volume.

It caught me out :mmmm

Yep done that bit the unit was working in the car a few days ago
but no sound out of it now. I think tech thins are tring to p me of
just now. I have also tested all the cables and there seems to be no fault
there so I think some things gone weard with the main unit.:tears

Do you have the correct audio lead from Starcom? It must be an isolated lead otherwise you may blow the sound circuit on the 2610.

my 2610 is ace so i threw it against the car door really really hard..and...its still ace!
