You may have read about the trip that 4 guys did from JHB to London. We did the trip on 4 GS's and delivered 4 pizzas (Really!) on route - all in an attempt to set the world record for the longest overland pizza delivery (which wasn't that difficult as no-one had tried it yet).
We video'd the whole thing using helmet and bike cameras from Chasecam, and camcorders and then eventually got round to getting a professional crew to turn over 100hours of recorded footage into a 4h25 Epic adventure of Africa as it's never been seen before.
This is arguably the best production to come out of South Africa in this genre (also because no-one has done one!) and there really are not many DVD's that share the adventures of everyday riders attempting this route.
A similar route to "Long Way Down" but with no support vehicles, half the time and twice the problems!
As the back cover says:
"See Africa as it’s never been seen before – raw and uncut. Follow the adventures of four unlikely motorcyclists as they race the clock in a world record attempt on an Epic journey that takes them and four Scooters Pizzas from Mandela Bridge, Johannesburg, to Tower bridge, London. Share in the negotiations of the border crossings; the bandits and broken bikes in Northern Kenya; sweet Ethiopian espresso and fresh Kenyan goat. Shake your head in wonder at the beaurocracy of Egypt and the lush green beauty of Ethiopia. Feel your heart ache at both the beauty and tragedy of Africa.
Watch Luigi deliver a pizza from Johannesburg to his 93 year old Mother in his home town of Fidenza, Italy, and be amazed as the team track down the Springbok rugby team in France. All in the name of delivering a pizza from Johannesburg to London.
4 riders, 4 pizzas, 39 days. 1 world record attempt."
