Early doors yet but one for the diary.

Following on from the success of this years weekend in the Cotswolds, many suggested that we should do it again.
It’s growing in size thanks to the likes of @The Other PaulG and @tjmouse and others.

So, a heads up:-

Suggested date:-
Friday 1st Oct - Sun 3rd Oct 2027

Here:-

The owners have invested a fair amount of money in this venue, a pub with a camping field for tents and hard standing with hook up for vans. The food is good and reasonably priced and the staff were amazing.

Plenty of space for tents, campervans/motorhomes and there are a small number of rooms but you’d need to get in quick.

All welcome, post up if you are interested.

Count me in great place and meeting new people . Thanks in advance for the organisation by others

Yep, tentatively interested subject to work commitments closer to the time. I had hoped to come this time round, however I had a booking with my band on the date.
Will be in a VW transporter most likely.
Thanks in advance :beerjug:

Oooh, missed the rest off

…. me too, god (or whoever) willing

Looks like we have a quorum.

I’ll give them a bell Monday to warn them that we are coming back. I’ll post up contact details for the venue so that everyone can book themselves a room/ pitch/hook up.

Sorry about the dates @AustinW , hopefully you’ll be able to confirm nearer the time.

I need to buy the owner Nigel a beer, didn't get chance this year ... he went one more mile (literally) to get me to the steam meet up at the brewery

Thanks Brian - brilliant to get this into the diary.

Some of the thoughts from this year - just recording them now before I inevitably forget them!

  • Ride-out - I think we were at the max number for the ride-out to be easily manageable. Next year we could maybe break into smaller groups to stop it becoming too cumbersome (and also to minimise our impact on some of the smaller villages we pass through).
  • Routes - calling TJMouse....! Time for a change next year, maybe even outside the Cotswolds, just to keep it fresh?? Maybe a first-timers group could explore the (brilliant) routes we've already done, while veterans (!) do something new? To be discussed.
  • Off-road - I think it was Tufty who noted that there were plenty of excellent green lanes in the vicinity, so an off-road outing might be popular.
  • Brewery tour - there was talk about that this year, we should maybe consider that as an option, early enough to book in a small group, if there's any interest (it gets booked up well ahead of time). We should also look to see whether the brewery is hosting any interesting events (Lagonda cars last year, traction engines this year).
  • Braai - it's highly weather dependent, but at past events the BBQ has always added something, in my opinion, so let's look at a plan for that.

I can't remember anything else we discussed... what have I missed?

P
