“Weserbergland” is a twisty motorcycle ride through Lower Saxony, North Rhine-Westphalia and Hesse, Germany. A 264km (164mi) ride passing through Bad Münder am Deister, Hameln, Bodenwerder, Höxter, Beverungen, Bad Karlshafen and 9 other places.

What conclusions can we reach?

1. It is a popular area, at least with Germans.

2. It’s popular (for good reason) with bikermates.

3. If it’s popular, there’ll be hotels. Though, some might get booked-up, in high season.

4. If there are bikermates going, there’ll be hotels that are biker friendly. Again, watch out for high season, perhaps.

Instant holidays, with all but zero effort.

There are a lot of routes from various publications out there. Maybe a separate section for these and also a link on how to subscribe?
I have about 100 routes I downloded from the Dutch version of the AA / RAC - called the ANWB. Now long not avaialble but all can be downloaded from my website as GPX files.
There are also a number of publications they have which I'd be happy to post.
Maybe a section on Tour routes & publications.
The above from Germany is also one. I used to get Motorrad and Reisen but as said that publication seems to have disappeared.....

There is a suggestion in a thread in the German section of a sub-section for routes that appear in magazines, along with a question about how to access the magazines.


Here’s my tuppence worth:

I've been following this with interest, Germany is a country I've not explored so it's on the list. It's a week in Western France/ Brittany this May so looking like Germany for 2027.

I've been visiting the Harz Mountains for 20 plus years, from there visiting the Weserbergland is only 20 minutes away and makes for some great days out.

If you headed to Cochem and then crossed the Rhine north of Koblenz, and rode in a straight line towards Hannover you could spend a week, stopping for a couple of nights in places like Siegen, Winterberg or Bad Berleburg before getting to the Fairytale Route. East of that area you then have the Harz mountains for another few days before heading back to the North Sea via Munster and Arnhem.

Of course, I understand if you would not want to return to Cochem with the Finanzdirektor in tow, so pick another Mosel town. Bernkastel Kues, Bad Bertrich and Trier are nice.

the area of the Weserbergland is great. I was stationed in Hameln for 4 years and have been back a few times since. great roads and good places to see and visit
