also intrested in price and more detials must say it sounds a bit dodgy to me JJH

Hello Tuned In,

Thank you for your reply.

My apologies I didn’t include more information.

Here is a brief overview of the BikerCom functionality and how the system works.

How BikerCom Works
The BikerCom system includes two wireless Helmet Headsets and a Control Box. The Control Box is the core of the system and is equipped with Bluetooth wireless technology enabling two separate and simultaneous connections with devices such as a mobile phone or navigation device. Additionally the Control Box has five 3.5mm audio jack sockets for connecting a variety of input devices such as a two way radio, radar detector or audio player. The Control Box transmits all audio signals wirelessly to the Helmet Headsets; there are no troublesome wires between the Rider, Passenger and Control Box.

Functionality
• Rider to Passenger Intercom - wireless
• Connect to a two way radio
• Connect to a mobile phone – Bluetooth wireless connection
• Connect to a navigation device – Bluetooth wireless connection
• Connect to a radar detector
• Connect to an audio player – stereo

A full description of the BikerCom is on our website including how each device connects and works with the system.

BikerCom Reviews
The BikerCom has recently received two reviews.

A link to the first review was earlier posted in the Bike Communications forum, here is a link to the thread:
http://www.ukgser.com/forums/showthread.php?t=189054

The other review is available online at Ultimate Motorcycling, here is a link to the review:

BikerCom Pricing
The current MSRP is $749 USD, as the manufacturer we have been including a free Noise Filter accessory, free shipping, and a small discount to those who have purchased directly from us because we appreciate their support.

BikerCom Warranty
The BikerCom has a twelve month manufacturer’s warranty.

BikerCom Battery
The Control Box is powered from your motorcycle battery, and the Helmet Headsets provide 12 hours talk time.

My main reason for posting is to let UKGSer.com members know that we are giving away three BikerCom systems in a promotion, and I thought winning a free system might be of interest.

I hope this information is useful, please let me know if I can be of more help.

Kind Regards,
Benjamin Williams.

Hello vilguy,

Thanks for your reply.

The BikerCom is not cheaper than the Scala Rider TeamSet or Q2 MultiSet.

The BikerCom MSRP is $749 USD while Cardo’s website lists the TeamSet at $269.99 USD, and the Q2 MultiSet at $395.99 USD.

There are some important differences between these products. For example both the TeamSet and Q2 MultiSet have no two way radio or radar detector connectivity, an audio player requires a cable connection to the headset and does not provide stereo music. There are also some limitations when connecting Bluetooth equipped devices.

Cardo produce some very good products that meet the needs of many motorcyclists; the BikerCom is designed for an “Autocom type” customer.

I hope this information helps.

Kind Regards,
Benjamin Williams.

also intrested in price and more detials must say it sounds a bit dodgy to me JJH
Hello JJH,

Thanks for your reply.

I have listed the pricing in my earlier replies.

I can understand and appreciate a new company posting about new system might seem a bit dodgy, but I can assure you the BikerCom is a quality product.

Because the BikerCom has two separate Bluetooth connections the system must be, and is, approved by the Bluetooth Qualification Body (BQB). The BikerCom also meets FCC and CE requirements as well as other country specific certification. Our manufacturing facility is located in Taiwan’s Hsinchu Science park where many of the biggest names in mobile phones, computers, etc are manufactured.

I hope this information gives you some more confidence about the BikerCom.

Kind Regards,
Benjamin Williams.

Hi Biker com

Send me one to try out and if it's any good I'll let everyone on the site know:thumb2

£470 at present exchange rates then.

*gulp*

One problem....

Radar detectors are illegal in this country... therefore you would be promoting the use of illegal equipment...

And I dont use a cable to listen to music in my q2 headset. It works via bluetooth just fine :)

oh and the q2 doesnt have an inbuilt radio because it uses bluetooth to connect to other q2 headsets with a range of 500 mtrs or so. So quite effective for riding with your mates :)

Q2 teamset price - around £180 ($290)

Just a few pointers and do wish you all the best with the product. But its EXTREMELY high end priced. It would have to be absolutely amazing to justify that price.

Radar detectors are not illegal in the UK...yet:thumb2

That's how I understand it, and even when radar detectors are made illegal - camera warning devices, which use a GPS database - will continue to be legal.

(Garmin alerts, Inforad etc)

I'm astonished you doubt the integrity of the King of Skye... I may have to refer the matter to the site owner.

Hello vilguy,

Thanks for your feedback and good wishes.

The top side of the Control Box has two wireless connections dedicated to each Helmet Headset, and two Bluetooth wireless connections for a mobile phone or navigation device.

Regarding the radar detector; the under side of the Control Box has five sockets. One is dedicated for the PTT button, one is dedicated for the two way radio, and one is primarily for audio. The remaining two sockets are labelled AUX 1 & 2 and can be used for a radar detector, non Bluetooth GPS, or another device. They are not dedicated to a radar detector but we have found that's what is commonly used.

It sounds like your Q2 headset is working well, which is great. We don't aim to dominate the motorcycle communications market but hope we can provide a good system that meets the needs of many bikers.

Kind Regards,
Ben.

I will test it for you, tried the intaride bluetooth set and found it carp :augie

Hi Benjamin, sorry if I seemed hasty in the use of ''dodgy''. The price you quote is very very expensive at $700+ from a direct factory outlet. To my mind that would leave a retial price of well over $1000 if a distrubitor and a retailor are to make a profit. The bluetooth techonlogy must be similar to a bluetooth head piece that one can pair with a mobile phone and buy for $15 to$20. I know you can spend over $100 on one but then you are getting a high end brand name(not nescessarley better). Also a 12 month guarentee is not a lot of use if you are half way around the world.
I wish you luck with the product and would eat my words if proved wrong.
I also would gladly do a product evulation if you send me one and I will keep you up dated on a regular basis. JJH
