Had the 1200gs 2008 (1st bmw) for around ten weeks now and done around a thousand miles so just wanted to say a few things about the bike. Firstly, just to set the scene, I,ve owned loads of bikes over the years, all Japs, but thought I would see what all the fuss (ewan/charlie) was all about. So anyway, finished work last night and home for 6pm. Swimbo on backshift so free to get up to all sorts
Thought I'll head out as it looks good up the west coast. General route went Kirkintilloch and back via Campsie fells, Fintry, Kippen, Callander, Crainlarich, Tyndrum, Inverary, Loch Lomond, Balloch & Milngavie.
Stopped at the Chippie across from The Green Welly, think it's called the Good Food Cafe or somfink. Usual lengthy wait but worth it even if it was only chips tonight (sorry no pics
)
Anyway, I digress, 4 hours on the gs.............. Been on bikes for 32 years and this one is easily the best all round bike I've had. I could sit on it all day and it just seems to grow on me with every ride. It does have some snatchy fueling sometimes but it sticks to the road and seems to run on rails unlike any other bike I have had.
I am soooooooooo pleased and should have made the move yonks ago. Already looking forward to the pcp finishing in two years and hopefully move on to a twin cam gsa
