Is it just a cosmetic thing on GSA's or do they serve a purpose? As in road water deflection? :nenau

Best use I have found is that it stops your pint glass from sliding off when parked on the main stand.

Mine broke off about 1 year ago, haven't noticed any detrimental effects.
havent replaced due cost and availability

Didnt know about motorworks, thanks!
cheapest beak they have is 95quid - by the time I pay for that in Aus $ and pay shipping - that is a lot of whisky

thanks though

I think I read somewhere, certainly on the older GS'a that it helped with airflow into the engine (although I might have made that up or dreamt it)

Nowadays I think its just styling. I like it personally makes the bike stands out

my error
I re-read the op and see it is asking about the black extender
my WHOLE beak has broken off

thanks and apologies
