Hi,

when we want to laugh our asses of (I hope this is the right saying) we just take a Dutch text and translate it with Google back and forth to English. Most of the time it's quite funny. Less funny is that some big companies use Google translate for their website of manual as well.

The English "orange" can mean a piece of fruit or a colour (you have the u in it, don't you?) but in Dutch we use different words for it. Funny to see them referring to the fruit where they mean the colour...

But language is such a funny thing.:blagblah ;)

Greetings, Tom.

P.S. let's not start about swearing (lading met stierenstront or heilige koe!)

DUTCH GS MEETING

Stahlkoffer will be going to this meeting. We went two years ago and had a great time. Also we will also have our Stahlkoffer goods and accessories (panniers, rear racks, roll-bags, top-boxes, handlebar bags etc.)on display at bargain prices. Hope to see you there.
Safe Riding,
Bernie

Fack me, is this weather going to improve,
Getting a bit worried now about the 500 mile trip and camping at this one,
Am I being a poof bearing in mind the missus is coming on her GSA as well.
It's always been very cold at previous begium rallies, but the last dutch one sunny and very hot,
Any thoughts from anyone else :nenau
Ferry is booked for Friday and Monday and we definitely still want to come
But putting the tent up in snow ain't our idea of fun.

At least it's dry...

On the other hand if it does get suddenly warmer.. it'll likely piss buckets..

This last couple weeks, the Riding for my break-in has been awesome anyways. Have Gerbing, will travel. :beerjug:

I guess if you don't have, or don't want to carry winter sleeping bags.. then your choices start to get hard though..

Al... (wishing he could go, but doesn't want to leave his wife (who just bought him a new GSA) for Easter..)

Have you not had the snow that we have had this weekend.
That would definitely be reassuring, we usually take 2 sleeping bags each and don't really get too cold in the tent,
Just wondered about the journey there if there is a lot of the white stuff still around.

No Snow in The Hague at all. Been dry for days.

Not sure about where the meet is.. should be easy enough to find a webcam in the area maybe?

Al..

Weather is looking to improve over the weekend :hide

We've got a 100 mile ride to Hull on Thursday which doesn't bother us too much (rather than a 220 mile jaunt down to Dover/Folkestone :eek )

Looking at the Country File forecast last night the isobars are spreading out over Netherlands from Thursday onwards, so the wind will drop, with the chance of a warm front pushing in from the south Sat/Sun?

True, that could bring rain or snow but we're GS riders! Easter is always a gamble.

Gerbing on the bike, two sleeping bags each in the tent :thumb2

The Dutch will make sure we're all fed and watered in comfort, if previous years are any guide...

CoGS & Lisa

Just got a text saying that there will be strikes in the French ports 7am thurs until 7am Fri, causing possible problems after this, fackin fantastic.
:blast:blast

STAHLKOFFER AT DUTCH RALLY 29.3. - 1.4.13

Stahlkoffer will be at the International GS Rally this year at Klein Oever in Balkbrug, Holland.
We were there two years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. We will also be displaying our selection of panniers, topboxes, rear-racks, inner-bags, rollbags, bootbags, handle-bar bags, mudguard extenders etc. etc.
Looking forward to seeing you there.
Safe riding
Bernie and Philippa.

Greetings, Tom.
