Well,

Yesterday my six month old MY13 LC with 7200 miles on was returned the the fatherland,

After six months of playing hide n seek with neutral, and clacking n crunching my way around Suffolk n trips further afield,

Cannons of Essex badgered BMW in to replacing it. Job done well done Adam n Keith of Cannons Of Braintree. :beerjug:

Only done a few miles on new one but its defo nicer shifting n neutral is er there :D

Already noticed a few differences,

Funny how to bikes can feel so different but I'll leave conclusions till I stuck a few more miles on it,

Off out, North I think Reedam Ferry, North Norfolk to Woodford Brewery for Lunch.:thumb :thumby:

Noticed quite a few changes, switch gear, side stand, steering damper, suspension units, strange gizmo under passenger seat,

Hope you get on better with this bike! Cannons are top dealers IMHO Adam is a laugh.

Lets have a full report on the 2014 LC when you have done a few more miles :D

Just waiting for the insurance to pay out on my triple black GS and then highly likely to be putting in an order for a new LC myself :thumb

Enjoy the bike.

Cannon's "Adam is a laugh"....

Don't get me started.

Any man with a fondness for Michael Jackson, Bouncey Castles and Moonwalking has to arouse suspicion in my view.

Have been along to see my 2014 GSW in the shop today, all shiney and white with boxes, bars and Akra ~ collection 08:01hrs sharp tomorrow, am looking forward to it and is great machine.

This will be the third bike I've purchased from Cannon BMW (BMW S1000RR & Husqvarna Nuda 900R) in the last couple of years and on each occasion the service has been nothing short of excellent whether at point of cash handover or after sales. Very impressed.

And, as an aside, Adam probably isn't as bad as the others at the shop say he is. He's just a little, well, "odd".

IMHO, FWIW.

And here's one of Adam so that you know who to deal with if you visit.

That's my boy!

He is a little "loud" but has a good heart! He is my son, and sold me 2 GS, inc an LC

Tight n Woereeeee

220 miles this am

Steering damper can be felt on tight maneuvers but feels very much same as previous bike.

Tyres nice n new always makes a bike feel good but not sure they have the same feel as the Nexts on the MY13.

It's smoother at 70 old ones annoying vibes have gone.....

Rougher at tick over but carburates loverly no surging at 30 in third like some do,

Switch gear feels different clickier if that's a word.

Old ern did 57 to the gallio from day one to 7200 miles this one is doing 53 at mo

Oil level is just below circle when hot 3mm lower down when cold

The exhaust it quieter !

Lots of little changes,

Lots of little changes

Happy for you NLL, but also jealous. Been complaining since I first got mine and had 2 new clutches and the new pushrod to no avail. Was at dealers today and they had another 2 in for new clutches, but still no official BM pronouncement on this problem.
I've taken out their demo 800 GSA thinking I'll swap it out, but as good as it is in so many ways (especially the smooth gear changes) it isn't a 1200 LC.
Hope you enjoy the new bike, but please BMW can I have a new one, mine is ruining my riding fun.

Have you got in touch with BMW HQ directly? This is your route to a replacement bike, if your dealer isn't playing ball.:rob:thumb

Longerlegs that's a very nice result,

I'm too going to asking BMW to replace my bike and will be having a serious discussion with them because not only do i have a rear subframe out of tolerance that will not accept vario panniers, and the rear rubber boot on the drive that has holed, and the gearbox box issue and awaiting for the parts.

I also have a bike that the steering lock stop has been welded in the wrong place. Theres a few bikes with this fault with march build dates on the adv forum and so the bars on left lock comes too far inwards and has resulted in me having a accident when doing a u-turn as the bars kicked too far inward and had me rolling on the floor with the fooking heap of sh1t on top of me whilst in France and Trapped my foot and fooked my helmet. I even told my dealer about the steering issues before i went away and they said it will be fine.

Not yet, but ask me after tomorrow, returning the 800 and need a serious talk with dealer.

I'd be more than happy if they just replaced the whole engine and gearbox assembly, rest of the bike is fantastic.

Pretty serious when BMW have to consider replacing the whole bike, where do they draw the line for replacing all the other ones affected with similar faults?

Better explain the whole process,

I wrote to BMW several times expressing my unhappyness, they just palmed me off until I wrote formally rejecting the bike, at which point they said talk to your dealer as your contract is with your dealer, I have had several issues, which messed up lots of my plans.

Playing hide n seek with Neutral for the last seven thousand miles, Somethng like eight eighty mile round trips to dealers, 1000 miles on there loan bike etc, riding round Spain with Oil Light on, Embarising Cluncks n Clacks while on IAM videoed rides etc etc.

Soon as the rejection Email landed at BMW and Cannons, Cannons were on the case phoning me on holiday promissing to resolve my issues, and they did having a meeting with BMW representative following Tuesday n sorting it for me.

They asked if I would be prepared to contribute a small amount towards the replacement of MY13, well I've had 7200 miles of use it has not let me down only stressed me out LOL.

So a deal was struck between me and BMW on what I should pay towards shifting a bike on an getting on with riding.

Add up pre-deliverly costs, road tax, and a pair of tyres and that what I've paid. I'm very happy with the "deal" and the new bike does not display the same issues.

Jobs a goodern thanks to Adam and Keith at Cannons...:thumby:

Thanks for explaining that, makes sense. I'd be happy to come to an agreement, as you say, you still have used it even though it wasn't up to what was expected.
I put 2300 miles on in the first 2 weeks,600 for first service and 1700 for trip to Scotland organised by the dealer. But only done another 1k since, no enthusiasm with the on going problem.
I should have put it in writing to BMW and not just relayed it to dealer, can only follow this up.

Noticed quite a few changes, switch gear, side stand, steering damper, suspension units, strange gizmo under passenger seat,

What's the difference with the side stand? Mine's a got a tendency to try and roll off the side stand if you're not careful. Be great if they've adjusted it a bit.

Cheers
Jimmy
