At 88.4MB I am a little cynical as to the scope of the improvements but will report as and when. The update was described as 'Bug fixes and new features'.

I thought it was in English?! :DD

This is the update that BMW has been promising CRN users for two years, that would save its reputation as a company of integrity blah, blah, blah and make the CRN at least as good as a Nav 6 or Garmin XT.

Err, what are you downloading it to? The bike, a laptop, tablet, phone? My R1250 GSA is pretty crap on the navigation front. Sometimes it tracks my ride, sometimes it doesn’t, sometimes tracks part of the ride but then stops. I can’t get any mapping on the TFT at all. Tried plotting a route on my tablet but it goes the way it wants. It sometimes connects to my phone and sometimes doesn’t. I’ve pretty much given up with it to be honest. It is not a patch on my very old Zumo 660 and Basecamp which is a shame as my sat nav is going to need replacing in the not too distant future. I was hoping the BMW system would be a good option but it is not.

The ConnectedRide Navigator. I can't see any difference at the moment. I've had a look through the menus and can't see any major additional features. It's a shame as it's quite a good stand alone Sat Nav but could be so much better. Oh well......................

Thanks, I don’t have a connected ride navigator. In fact I don’t know what one is. I’ll stick with the old Zumo for now.

This was the only entry at New functions with Update 4:

Altitude display

From now on, you will be able to display the current altitude while riding and configure it in the navigation information. The altitude will be visible with or without route guidance activated.

Importing GPS routes
With the new update, routes (rte) can be imported, as well as waypoints (rtept) and edited after importing. For example, you can delete or add waypoints. The general limit on the number of waypoints is still 50.

Traffic and map information
The styling and map layout have been optimised so that the map elements and traffic information along the route can be seen more clearly.

Sharing routes via Bluetooth
From now on, you will be able to share all of your routes with friends: Simply select the Bluetooth transfer option from the context menu and send your route to the ConnectedRide Navigator of your choice. This way, you can all travel to the same destination on group trips.

Does the connectedride navigator fit into the Garmin style cradle on my 2022 R1250 GSA?

Hi Bill,

That was update 1.04. This one is 1.06. I couldn't find technical info online about this update except 'Bug fixes and new feature'. I'm sure it will be available over the next few days.

Thanks for that. Perhaps it shows how interested BMW are with the unit. Easily updated last night, but no obvious update that I could see.

You’re right, just updated to the last version. 👍

Just updated mine.
Must say, v1.06 seemed to perform without any outward foibles.
