THE LONG WAY DOWN well it appears that their will be renewed interest in the Gs with the Long way down.
Mr mc scott was in the times this weekend talking about his trip through to Africa and states 'WE LIVE IN SUCH A COMFORTABLE AND EASY TIME THAT IT DOESNT DO YOURSELF ANY HARM TO GO AND TEST YOURSELVES AND SURVIVE WITH JUST THE BARE ESSENTIALS'
Now did i miss something but I thought i saw a cameraman, 2 support vehicles a doctor etc etc.
But fair play that he is rich enough to indulge himself but Ted Simon he aint.
I also see that Jude Law may be accompanying him when he travels South America and by Mr Boormans reaction he doesnt appear to know much about it?
Wonder if KTM would be interested this time around. :thumb

Am I missing something. i thought the Long Way Down was another trip that Ewan and Charlie were planning through Africa, sometime in the future (not includig Charlies Dakar)?

I believe if the press is correct that he is doing Scotland to tip of Africa, but he may be doing South America with Jude Law who has only previously only ridden a scooter and that the Dakar thing is a seperate entity all together.
Fair play to Boorman milk it for all its worth.

Nooooooooooooooooooooo can't believe this one.
Ok Long Way Around
OK Paris - Dakar

...but Long Way Down and South America.

If true, good for Charlie, Ewan and Jude. I wish I got sponsors to get me 3/4 months driving my bike around the world paying for evertything.

I fear that eventually BMW marketing might screw up. If repeated too many times, it's not an event anymore...

Ewan Interview

Ewan was interviewed in Bike a couple of months ago as 'one of the most influential people in biking'! To be fair he was quite a long way down the list. :D

Anyway he mentioned a trip called The Long Way Down but it was from the tip of North America to the bottom of South America. He also suggested he would be interested in doing an African trip, however he was aware that we would all get pretty fed up with him if he did it in the near future.

He also has another career to think about. :mmmm
