The Lords-A-Leaping Hertfordshire off-road bimble - Saturday 3rd January 2009

Thanks Greg look forward to seeing you saturday .

East london geezer if you bring a pillion it will make it very hard work i should imagine your pillion will end up walking a lot just a thought.

News has come in and my plans for the week have just changed,

If i could get a set of nobblies on by sat i'd be there.......

The ground is so cold, I suspect that you may be OK without nobblies.

We're doing a reccie tomorrow - I'll report back then.

Greg

I have to drop out im afraid. I did the 'Christmas on the Plain' ride, fell off 3 times but felt Ok, then woke up following morning with a limp right wrist in a lot of pain. Normally I would say sod it an I would be up for a good ride  However Skiing in 3 weeks and dont want to be knackered for that.

They'll be calling you a Southern Softie!

Greg

PS I'm skiing in 3 weeks too - where are you going?

For your safety and riding enjoyment, Mr Super Enduro R and I sacrificed the pleasure of our respective families' bosom on this New Year's Day and reccied the route we will use on Saturday.

(Mr Darkhorse hoped to join us by was detained driving the porcelain bus.)

We can report that the going is 'good' and that none of the lanes should represent an insurmountable challenge to a well-ridden GS on TKCs or an exceptionally well-ridden GS on Tourances.

For the benefit of Mr Miles, we also checked out the Old Bourne river bed. Progress was slightly impeded by the density of the over-growth and one fallen tree that was tricky to ride over.

A good day's ride bodes!

Greg

All

Just checked the tracklog from this morning (and edited out one or two wrong turns that we took!!). The route is 50 miles.

Please arrive at SBW Motorrad with enough fuel for the run.

Any chance you could upload the route? I probably can't make the ride, but as a nooby green laner in herts I'm interested to know where all the lanes you do are.

Greg Plan to come with Big Dave and JD but dont think we will be able to get to SBW any chance of an email of the route and Well meet somewhere on the route if thats OK email [email protected]
cant wait to get dirty !!!!!

I trashed my GS in Spain a few weeks ago and it's not ready yet so I'll hopefully be turning up on my KTM 450 with robroy and one other.

Fuel might be tight for the full 50 miles so if we're stopping for lunch I might need to shoot off to a petrol station.

Bimble

Hi Greg,

Myself and East London Geezer will be there tomorrow, I'm gonna risk it with Tourances cos I didn't have time to get TKC's. Looking forward it!:thumb2

Remember a straight back and lift.....from the knees. :D

I've just got back from SBW Motorrad in Hertford.

The coffee will be on from 09.00hrs and again when we get back!

Anybody bringing their steed in a van should park up at the far end of their carpark (furthest away from the showroom window).

Please don't abuse their hospitality - no muddy boots in the showroom!!!

:)

I am still undecided at the moment - really dont fancy the ride over in freezing temps with no heated grips or muffs, so I will see how frosty it is in the morning.
