I had a run out to Leyburn today and called in at the Manor cafe, Its only been open a few weeks and its location with a large car park makes it an ideal stopping point for club runs etc. There is also an on site tyre shop and they do bike MOTs, Worth a visit.

my brother

And a couple of mates went on the royal wedding day (I coudn't working) they said it seemed pretty good. Food was ok and plenty of parking. He said the coffee was a bit thin. Which is no good to me,I like it very black and very strong. Will have to give it a go next time we are out that way and perhaps ask for a strong coffee. will let you know how it goes.

I also had a run up there on the wedding day, quite roads:thumb2.
Cafe is ok with plenty of hard surface parking.
Micro Yorkshire dales brewary next door,. Maybe we could have a run out and tour round with a bottle or two to take away.:bounce1

I went a few weeks ago and thought it was shite

Really crap access road into a concrete farmyard with overpriced stale food served by teenagers who didn't want to be there

Loads of better places in the area for your money

Interesting. I went early May (think it had just opened) and the food and service was spot on....not a surly teenager in sight....:D

Can it have gone down the nick so quickly?.....:nenau

Of course it can. Early May the Dales re relatively quiet and full of mainly locals. Service is good.

Move on a month or so and things start getting busy, with more weekend tourists, so the hired helps come into play. Service and standards slip....

You'd think Nick rode a sports bike not a GSA tho the way he's bitchin about surface imperfections. ;)

I was driving my TT which isn't so keen on potholes and shitey gravel roads as the GSA Adam!!

Manor Cafe - Bellerby

Was there on Sunday and in all fairness, it was very busy with queues outside the door and all seats full.

It's like anywhere else, if the demand is too great something suffers.

Go during the week (if you can) and it is OK.:thumb2

Agreed

Well, I went last Sunday

Gravel on the drive, was a bit nerveracking though - didn't expect that at a biker's haunt:eek:

Food was the usual biker's fare, all out of a chip fryer or a griddle:rolleyes:

Cheap-ish and ok, but I would have liked more choices, like fresh soup and crusty bread, sandwiches (not toasties) and maybe some healthy eating options

Won't be going out of my way to return, but may drop in for a tea or coffee

Much prefer a proper Yorkshire tearoom cafe .....................on the whole:thumb2

"healthy eating options"
How biking has changed over the last few years.
I wonder if Otley Dunnies will ever offer a healthy eating option, probably deep fried salad with chips.
I had a pork and stuffing baguette with a Small china cup of tea at a Yorkshire tea room in Osmotherly recently, all crust and no content, £5.50
What a rip off.
I only have lunch out once a week on my Sat bike run, I try eat healthy mid week, biking day needs a full English or bacon bap with a half pint mug of tea to make it complete.

Each to their own

Last thing I want is a fried lunch, riding a bike

Nice bowl of homemade soup in winter:thumb

We frequented 2 great walker's cafes last Sat - brilliant value and hearty food

Biker's cafe = greasy good:barf

Jonny

For christs sake its a bikers cafe. Not some CND save the world lesbian place. If you want lettuce and tomatoes go to that sort of place. Personably I'd rather have a bacon butty and a good coffee. I have been a lot of times this last year or so and the service and food has been just what we wanted at the time. If you don't like it don't go but don't slag it off. That is all I am saying.

Who's slagging?

Just saying what I thought

All I said was that it would be nice to have more choice, I had beans on toast:D

It was noticeable that not many ladies were eating :augie

Places need to be diverse IMHO

I shall try it again, perhaps

All being said, I usually avoid 'biker's cafes' - full of stereotypes, greasy food et al:D

Called in yesterday. What a great spot :thumby:

I'm not commenting on the menu or value for money (I had an ice cream and a coffee ;) ).

It's not visible from the road so you need to know where to go, but this has not stopped it acquiring a loyal bunch of motorbiking clients.

Also there is a bike garage busy servicing/MOT bikes.

Well worth a visit :thumb

They even let me in/talked to me on my push bike :D

I was there a few weeks ago.
Had a "Manor Burger" - Good quality ingredients.

Great place.

:thumb2

"Hearty food" my arse. "Wholemeal bacon and tofu eggs on two slices of organic rye" for fekks sakes.

It's a bit late for older blokes pretending to care and start being all twee about snap just cos they're fat coonts. Gerrit 'etten.

Called in, this afternoon on my way back from Swaledale

Lukewarm tea and poor service

Proprietor was more interested in smoking outside and chatting to bikers, than making sure her staff were serving customers properly

Told them and they offered another, which wasn't really the point - so declined

Remind me not to go back:blast
