Has the Mishnish closed down? Hard to find much info on the net but nothing very recent, at least since about August

It looks like there have been a fair few feuds and fights over the place revolving around debt. The last time I was there they had just spent a fair few quid renovating the rooms so a shame if all for nothing

Changing from Yellow to Black was the beginning of the end.... ;)

Hardly Mike, besides which....you like black. ;) It's true there was a bit of local disquiet when Robert MacLeod painted it black but probably no more so than when his father, Bobby, painted the whole row in its multi-coloured hues, back in the mists of time. It certainly looks like it's the end of the MacLeod dynasty's tenure of the Mishnish. Robert's son had been running the restaurant in the old Post Office just along the street for some time. It looks like he and his missus have now bought the Tobermory Hotel. It'll be interesting to see what becomes of the Mishnish. Tobermory has, arguably, too many hostelries, restaurants and coffee shops anyway.

I know, twas just an attempt at early morning humour....

I do recall a bit of angst when the colour change took place though... was it not some sort of protest by the owner?

Muileach politics - you know how these things are. Also, as I said, shocking some of the more conservative Tobermory residents was a bit of a family trait. If you really, really want to know, I'll message my ex sister-in-law who, I believe is in Florida just now. She waitressed in the Mish one summer - her father and Robert MacLeod's father, Bobby MacLeod were friends so I've got a wee insight into Mishnish machinations.

Only £800k? Would make a handy wee pied a terre for a Russian billionaire. Sma' change for these boys.

I'm sure there will be a pub of some sort in the place, just depends how posh and touristy they make it
I see there's a place called the Mishdish which looks a bit smart, don't know if there's a connection

The Mish was bought by the same bloke that owns The Lord of the Isle in Croabh Haven a few months ago, also a McLeod but no relation.

I was in a couple of months back and all seemed normal.
