Ok, second hand Zumo400. Was meant to have euro maps in it ... didnt.
Have sent for official Garmin SD card for france/benelux.
Have Mapsource/ city nav nt 2013 on computer, but only uk mapblock outlines are highlighted. Europe is basemap
Have Mapsource/ city nav v7, 2008, I believe, (presumably from my 2610 days) and all europe maps are visible to street level
Have basecamp on computer. Never touched it yet.
When I stick the new SD card (has not arrived yet) and presumably all the french/benelux blocks of maps appear on my Zumo........
1, Can I get proper street level mapping on my city nav 2013 on the computer ?
2. Can I make routes on the existing City nav V7 on the computer, and send them to the Zumo which will contain 2013 maps ?
3. why's it all so fuckin complicated? Ive been ripping? music from cds', which, by using the magic of satan, have been magically transformed into mp3s on windows media thing.
I get a wee picture of the album on the computer, which I drag across to another box, press sync with device, and it goes into the Zumo. Been doing it for hours.
Seems to be working, maybe I'm not so daft after all. Or so I thought.
Took the sd card out of its arse ... no music on the Zumo!
So all the music Ive so patiently ( and expertly) transferred, is on the sd card. The very sd card which I will be replacing with the friggin France/benelux card when it comes !!!
Will there be space left on that card for me to stick some songs on it .... will it be possible to do that to the new card without feckin the maps up (what do I know ... obviously feck-all about invisible scorcery like this anyway).
Yesterday, I plugged my wee Zen mp3 thing into the computer, and the library containing all my music appeared.
I plugged in the Zumo, copied a mp3tune across (most of the tunes in the zen are not mp3s) and it appeared and played on the Zumo.
That tune still appears when the card is removed, so its obviously went into the unit itself.
Then why the feck did all my afternoons labours not go into the unit and instead, went into the sd card.
It never even asked me where I would want it to go !
Then I have a look at some of the info on here. Its like an illiterate person being expected to read and understand latin furfuckssake.
Where do you guys learn this stuff? These words?
Is this what you were doing when I was going to the pub with my mates?
"oh, you make seperate files for each thing and name them s*p?$, then send them using *^&% method ..and then list them in your favourites".
Bloody hell, I'm this close to cutting the plugs off everything and becoming a friggin hermit.
Anyhoo .... rant over. Read my 'simple questions' at the start and tell me what I can expect/do.
Ta
Edit : How do you 'simulate a route' on a Zumo400
