The Mournes in the Autumn weekend

Thanks for a great weekend and for the tremendous hospitality.
Big thanks to Tom and Elizabeth for feeding me on my soggy arrival .....on which subject: I have never seen so much consistent rain in my life. From the moment I got off the ferry on Friday, with a brief respite this morning, then all the way back to Belfast and from Stranraer home with a spot of novelty fog thrown in for good measure.

and just up the road, on me way back to Belfast, I came round the corner to see this pub:

Thanks again folks - it was a good weekend despite the weather.

:beerjug:

Looks like hard times in Ireland are driving us back to the good old days with the Maghera Inn doubling up as a butchers and selling Irish beef:aidan

I'd hoped to get down for teatime but it clashed with my wee bike clubs first anniversary

The plan was to do our rideout the pikchoors and go home and change and come down and say Hi

Unfortunately a wee drop Giggle juice was had, lets just say that it was not in the original plan So the plan was modified and more giggle juice added and we didn't go very far after that

Hope you guys had a good weekend I did! Wet but Good

Okay Very Fooking Wet but very Fooking good!

Jaysus Bin, there's you barely old enough to have grandchildren at all and then two of them turn up at once!!! Hearty congratulations to all. :thumb2

The weekend. Well, as Jochen says, although not a usual UKGSer weekend it was the first time in twelve of these that we have been rained off completely. :(

Thanks to those who braved the dreadful weather and although a small gathering it was still good craic. I hope youse are all home safe and sound.

Congrats Grandad :beerjug:

That's 4 more than me

Although not a UKGSer weekend in the classic sense - no Sat ride-out due to the weather - it was still a good weekend. Had time to watch a good bit of rugby, have a swim & generally chill. Hotel was comfy (if a bit warm :Motomartin), the staff were pleasant and the food was excellent & plentiful.

Thanks to Mandy & Aidan for organising :clap And well done to Ange & Tim, Chris and Matt for making the effort to come over for the weekend :bow

God help the other pool users:eek::eek:

Now were did I put that photo:D

Despite the weather, Ange and I had a great time and it was great to catch up with old faces:rob and meet some new.

Special thanks to Aidan and Mandy for their outstanding hospitality once again and of course to Jockser for opening his tankbag revealing a bag of sweets floating in 2 inches of rain water:D

We had a great ride on monday trying to chase Aidan round the Tandragee circuit, TKCs on a slippy road was the perfect excuse for not being able to keep up with him...again:bow

Jockser for opening his tankbag revealing a bag of sweets floating in 2 inches of rain water:D
It's alright, the bag was still sealed so the GoldBears live to fight another day :thumb2

At least now I know the bottom half of the tank bag is waterproof, from the inside out anyway, if I ever need a wash hand basin or some such :blast

lmao typical more water in there than used to clean the whole bike :D

Unfortunately I wasn't able to save the butterscotch sweets that were under the water. They were a kinda soggy mess by the time I got home. Hung the wrappers on the clothes line but the contents ran out the end :tears

:nenau
What's this 'clean' of which you speak
No comprende amigo ;)
