Was having a wee chat we w00kie and Mairead at dinner on Saturday night about how music brings you back in time and memories. The boys below featured in our conversation

Anyway turned on the TV this evening and BBC4 showed a recorded Top of the Pops 1976.

I was only 13 when these guys were in the charts and I do admit to liking them although I never did wear the tartan.

The Andy Irvine & Paul Brady album (1976) was featured on TG4 this evening. I dug out the LP & cranked up the turn table to 33.333 - feck it it's still sounds good.
Oh me & my cousin one Arthur McBride we went for a spin down by the seaside..................

Favourite band of the decade - first album was brilliant but can't find on youtube - this is from a charity gig in 1986

worrabout Horslips? Saw them in Pavilion Dun Laoghaire with Cris De Burk as support, later saw them in Red Island, massive.....

I watched it too. :thumb2

Ah. Memories of the long hot summer of '76. Only problem was I on yet another Tour in NI.

There was some really good music back then but the Bay City Rollers epitomised the worst.
