As I knew I was going over, I managed to kill the engine before I went over.

Then we drained the exhaust by picking the bike up, drained the snorkel (about a pint came out!), checked the airbox which was really quite dry, then popped the plugs before turning it over a couple times. Put it all back together - and it fired first time, didn't even stutter

Rode the rest of the day, then checked the oil the following morning which was v creamy! So we did multiple flushes then refilled with fresh oil. Which, judging by the ride home (managed to get 130 miles out of a tank with 20 miles still left on the range indicator), did the trick. So, all is good :thumb2

hi mav
glad your bike is ok ,the creamy crap is probably from the cold hitting the heat when the bike went into water, condensation . done a good thing to change oil few times .i used to have a lot of condensation problems with a old ktm lc4 that i used to use in the winter rain .got fed up of changing the oil , ,put a dreadful mud flap style thing on the base of the mudguard and the problem almost stopped right away ,so the problem was from the water hitting the hot block .
