The new GS - just back from riding it in sunny Malaga, here's what our very own Bill Stacey - Norris thinks of it......

"Just been riding the new 1200GS in Malaga, what a improvement! Nothing wrong with the previous model so I did wonder how it could be improved. Read all the glossies, took their views with a pinch of salt. From the moment you pressed the starter button the bike felt different, free revving and so smooth.Riding in the mountains above Malaga the exhaust note ripped the tranquil surroundings (Bill, did you write for Mills & Boon?), as always the handling was faultless and suspension settings easily changed with a press of a button. Covered lots of miles all on twistys - only needed 4th gear all morning! Screen on the adv was a big hit with me. Freer revving and so smooth engine (did I say that already?)

Bike 10/10.

Exhaust 11/10.

Would I buy one………? yep, no doubt.

While at Bahnstormers yesterday I was told the new bike would be more expensive than the outgoing model and that sales would be at full retail price. I'd grab one of the current GSs now and let someone else work all the glitches out of the new model...there's bound to be some

Only passing on what I was told, although it may have been said to make me feel better for buying a current one in October....

Regardless of the new GS's pros & cons I did get to eat Bahnstormers' chocolate brownies...

I miss Bahnstormer's brownies (and the people that work there tbh).
No such thing as a free brownie in Yorkshire.
