The Next Best Bike in The World Ever......Thread :-)

Hopefully yours is the one without the Akra?

I did think about saving a few quid and fitting a shitty Wings exhaust. But as I've had Akras on every KTM I've owned since my first Duke in 1997,it seems wrong not to.And the fact that you can't see quality and style was the deciding factor.

It's broken down already.:blast:D

Funny funny man.It only came out of the box last night.
Probably won't get it until tomorrow as there's a fair bit to do with all the electronic unlocking bollox.

Awwww you're no fun, far too easy, far to easy :D

Mind, you forgot the bit about Akra having a close association and development history with KTM........

Just a thought; do you get different baffles with the Akra.........and.........can you actually remove the baffle?

Andres

Not sure what you mean by different baffles but they are removable.
Only thing is they seem to be spot welded rather firmly these days, and the Akra I have on my Husky 701 had the baffle removed by previous owner (of the Akra) and he said it was a bugger to get out.

I probably won't even try as I think it'll be too noisy.I took them out on my 950 SuperEnduro years ago and mates complained it was too loud when they were behind me on a trip so I put them back in and they've been in ever since.

Yeah, likewise, mine's way too noisy with the baffle out - on the Wings you get the option of no baffle, or two supplied baffles to give different sound levels. I find the noisier of the two to be about spot on for me. Interestingly, as well as the silencer being Ti so are the baffles on the cheap skate Wings exhaust :D

The reason I asked was reading the thread in the WC section on here about Euro 4 compliant Akras not having removable baffles; I know the the Akra for the SD is like that and assume that they are all like that now :nenau

They don't come with a choice of baffles.Just the one's in situ when delivered.
As far as I know they are still removable despite being Euro 4.But instead of a grub screw, you have to break the spot weld too,so I won't bother.

I've just had a look at mine. They're welded in from the inside, and there's no grub screw. The only way to remove them is to dismantle the whole exhaust, or buy a Euro 3 Akra.
