What features would you want in a perfect motorcycle GPSr ?

I would take a GPSmap 276C
- fit a standard memory card (SD or CF)
- keep the same button format but swap it to the left side
- upgrade the battery pack to 12 hour life (for off bike use)

i'd want colour screen size of a 176C
i'd want much faster autorouting - ie processor speed

usb 2.0 connection

cf card slots - a la 2610

zoom button on a no-click scroll wheel - a la mouse

much cheaper map software

microsoft compatibility - eg autoroute

oh - and half price :)

thats off the top of my head

For me, the 2610 with a powered keypad like the BMW Nav II with one change. Replace the NAV II's ESC key with a Directional Toggle key like the one on the 276c and Streetpilot. The Esc key on it is not necessary as this function is already provided by the PAGE key.

I can't see how this would be difficult or expensive. There is already a remote for the 2610 that offers many more functions and costs only about $40 to replace.

Left side button controls because I operate the buttons with my left hand.

While I am left handed, I believe that most right handers use their left as well so they can maintain throttle/braking control with the right.

After playing with a touch screen for 4 days, it is okay, but I prefer buttons.

addition

Add "voice activated commands" to my list. That would be the easiest and safest way to control a GPS on a bike.
