This thread has had over 1,300 views yet only 33 have pledged to support Bert's mission :nenau

If everyone who viewed the post had pledged just £2 or £3 we could have Bert well on his way, we are talking the cost of 10 fags or half a pint here.

For those of you who do on line banking it takes just two minutes to log on and send a couple of ££'s.

Donations can me made into this new dedicated account
Account Name Bertrand M Sargisson
Account number 04686691 First Direct Bank
Sort code 40-47-86

For full accountability/transparency, it is critical that when you donate, you must please send Bert an email with your full name and amount and date paid in as he is responsible to tell the Charity who gave what and when - no address is needed.

Lets show our support for a fellow GSer who is giving up 6 weeks of his time to make this mission work

Good Call Paul - I looked at the thread the other day and didn't see anyway of paying but obviously somethings neem sorted (and I needed a gentle reminder).:o

Consider it done

So that's £2 or £3 for Bert then it'll be £2 or £3 for the Scoots who's next ?Oh I forgot that'll be £2 for a poppy :blast
No offence Paul but "UKGSERs" cannot save the world and be expected to dig deep all the time.
People can't miss the advert they'll give if they want too :thumb2

No offense taken Forry and to an extent I agree with you, when someone shakes a tin at me in the street I very rarely 'give' as I already support many charities that I choose to give to.

It would be nice to see a little solidarity amongst our community and show support for a fellow GSer who is giving up 6 weeks of his time to make this mission work, surely £2 isn’t that much to ‘dig’ for :nenau

HI all.

HI all , not wanting to be a tight arse :rob, £10 is on its way Bert, from me, my 13year old daughter, my 15yr old son , my 16yr old daughter and my wife, we all chipped in £2 each.Good luck son.
You are setting a standard we should all follow...:clap:clap:clap
May luck be on your side....
best regards,Paul and tribe...

It's a fair point, Forry. But this reply will bump this thread as well. ;)

Those that want to will, those that would rather their money went elsewhere won't. It's their choice and no-one will judge them for it. Me? Well, I know Bert fairly well so he's got some of mine. :thumb

I hope this mission or my asking for help does not upset anyone

Forry - no worries - any decision to help or not is a personal one- I gratefully accept what those who wish to help but think no less of those you do not wish to. I am grateful to Paul for all the support he is giving enabling me to use this platform- I am conscious not not wishing to abuse this privilege.
If my asking has offended anyone, please accept my apology - There never was any intention to do so.

Yes £2 or £20 or whatever amount anyone can give is always money.
Without wishing to sound like a victim- I am not -as my decisions are my own, so far, I've put in £2400 on this mission and it hasn't rolled yet.

I will be putting another 8000 miles futher on the clock wearing out and dropping the value of my Toyota Hilux 4x4 which was already bought with many sacrifices- but I am not here to harp on about that.

I bought 6 new tyres £92 each, 2 air filters at £60 a pop, 2 diesel and 2 oil filters + changed all my 7 litres engine oil, gearbox,+2 other 'boxes' whose names i dont' know but which each take 1.5 litres of gear oil.
Then there are the plastic boxes, cable ties, duck tape and the list goes on and on.
I go because I want to and it feels right- I am only putting up the above so that anyone reading this can perhaps see it from a different angle.
I am out of work for awhile now and a long way from being wealthy. - Despite legislation...go tell a prospective employer that you have a problem with mobility and ...:augie so far..no call backs... maybe I'm just a used up :rob too!:D

Still, I fight on- as best I can, each day, 6 hours on the telephone looking for support. The second mission -being the 'first full load' and more complex, I worked on for 8 months pro-bono. This time, as I know the ropes, it takes less time to alter exisiting paperwork but still- been at it 2 weeks to date.

It's not just the journey time, ask Fanum, Speggo & Co/anyone who puts these things together how much work is involved. It's quite a lot to put it mildly! and my phone bill isn't getting smaller either :blast
but it's the end result that counts :thumb2
Tally Ho :D :hug UKGS'ers :thumb2

Paul, I think Berts post needs editing, it specifically says 'PLEASE DO NOT SEND ANY MONEY' If you don't read the whole thread then it's not obvious that he is accepting money now :nenau

£20 sent.

Andy.

Yes Sir :0)

Bert I will send you some money, as long as you don`t use it to pay off your morgage .

I mean oh noooo Sir Bakerman.
I solemly promise not to clear my morgage with your funds. Indeed all funds deposited/donated are going to purchase the meds.
I am paying for the diesel/trip
So do please dig in deep and I thank you on behalf of those wonderful children :thumb2
