You might have seen some of these pics before but nothing wrong with showing it off again...

I've had this 1991 GS for 23yrs now...Im second owner and don't know why but I just love it!

The original owner, a chap called Andrew Baldwin from nearby Bingley, wanted the GSPD but, because it had the large plastic tank, it was banned from the UK at the time.

He had the standard GS converted to this replica very early in its life (quite possibly one of the first conversions in the country).

When I bought it I upgraded the rear shock to Ohlins and replaced the front springs with progressive ones...a huge difference! I also put the single seat/rack on and a Migsel side-stand.

It doesn't see many miles in the year but I do maintain an MOT and today it had a run up the Dales then for its test...another pass with no advisories.

A great little 'bike, completely over-engineered and very easy to fettle.

There's a 2018 GS in the garage (which is also a fantastic 'bike) but this one is something else!

And never had an advisory in its history, well done Jim.

I like the single seat conversion you have done :thumb2

Who is the old couple in the one photo, the origional owner?

That looks bloody fantastic in that colour with the single seat and large tank. (y)

Thanks Paul...thats the original owner/wife when they took it north back in '92.
Poor bloke had to let it go due to the onset of Parkinsons.
I conspired with his wife to have it on their driveway on its 25th anniversary ... he was all over it like a rash...delighted to see it again.

A nice surprise for him, well done Jim.

Jim keeps teasing me with the offer of purchasing this old gem...I leap at it and then the owd bugger pulls up the drawbridge and leaves me hanging...yet again

Looks very good in that colour scheme (y)

Really enjoyed mine at the Colombres Rally in Spain last week - with 3 PD's doing the 300 mile Rally on Saturday, a Spanish one coming home first and mine (on the right) coming home third.

A very practical classic :)
