I’m still hoping I’ll find myself at home with time to ride up for this but it’s going to be a proper last minute affair hence no firm commitment from me. I can always bring a hammock and pitch it in the trees where I walked the dog when I was up just after Xmas if the camp site is full :D

Well there’s a thing. The other half needs to do 600 miles on her new and unused bike so she’s suggested that I should fit the rack and top box on her bike and she comes with me. Book me in for Friday through to Monday please:thumb2

No pressure then, just fit the rack and top box on her bike this weekend (she’ll probably want the pannier racks fitting as well) then rely on no delays fixing a turbine on Cyprus :D

Be good to meet you Andy, and your good lady if she decides to visit.

It's likely that the MOD will now be called in to provide a temporary Corran ferry link on one of Scotland busiest routes, that's definitely going to be a bonus for people living and working on the peninsula and also for anyone travelling to visit from the south :beerjug:

I did warn her that if the ferry wasn’t running we’d need to do a few extra miles but it’s summer, the evenings will be light until late and it’s an easy ride up. The only issue is going over the miles before the first service by too many. She’s got a Triumph she can use so no excuses not to go :D

Hopefully we’ll all have an entertaining weekend :beerjug:

As long as I actually get home in time it appears the the plan will be to drop the dog off at the kennels before 9am then ride up on Friday and home on Monday picking the dog up after 5pm. That’s more planning than I’d normally be bothering with :D

Oh, I think that's guaranteed. Although we'll miss out on the Scouser double act that is the Liver Boys, Stu and Al. No doubt they'll work on an even more hilarious act for next year. Maybe Stu can deliver a solo version of the rookie cop at the morgue routine? :jes

Local rumour has it that the army are going to get involved.
I was out in Kilchoan this week, I went up via Lochailort (nice road) to avoid the heavily congested single track round Loch Eil/Loch Linnhe.

Can we have a non snoring camping section please , I'm not good with it but if anyone keeps my missus awake with snoring I'd have to hide any / all sharp / blunt objects around

As this W/E is at the start of midge season any recommendations for a good repellent to keep the little barstewards at bay?
