Hi all

I've just gotten an offer for my stolen 2016 S1000XR in Red with 30k miles of 6419 minus excess.

Its pretty reasonable, there's a few examples on autotrader which are 7k or so but they have 5-10k less miles.

I have always heard to reject the insurance first offer but I don't know now? Seems like I should just accept it.

What harm is there in asking for more?

Good question, its more than what I paid for it initially 6 months ago (6k) and also I was already in the process of selling it as I have got some other expenses I need to take care of in the short term.

So I dont know how long it might take for them to "re-value" and then might still come back with the same offer.

based on what I sold my 2018 bike for, that is a decent offer

you will need to do some homework to get it raised such as providing evidence of what bikes in a similar condition have been *sold for* not advertised. Ebay sold prices might give an indication.

have you asked what We buy any bike would offer? That's what I did before setting the price of the bike I sold.

Well webuyanybike is like 4000 :ROFLMAO: so definitely not using them.

I have now accepted the offer as I think at best they might up it £100 but unlikely.

Go for it if that's what your happy with;; i've never understood this all you can eat mentality; the carvery's are good places to watch this phenomenon; fuckin plates stacked to the rafters and their cheeks bulging like chipmonks trying to get it all in then leaving half a plate; well i wont be providing a Heimlich when the cnuts start choking on a tough piece of meat. :D

What's the harm in asking, they are not going to take away the first offer just because you asked for more?

If you can find the same bike in a similar condition being sold for more you might be able to get them to increase their offer, otherwise I don't think they'll budge. Good luck
