Being tight and unwilling to splash out on an airhawk - good as I'm sure they are - I bought a thermarest camp seat (like a self inflating camp mattress with foam) from a local camp / outdoor pursuits shop (Taunton leisure) for £15 in sale. Its just the right size to fit nicely and strapped it on with a couple of buckle up fabric straps over a piece of that non slip rubber net stuff.
Once got the pressure right - so you can only just feel the seat through the pad - it was really comfy and didnt move about or feel floaty. This was sorted just in time for a run from Somerset up to Edinburgh fri and back on mon thats 8 hrs up (traffic north of Bham) and 7 hrs down just ahead of the worst of the storms - bit scary at times though ! As for the thermarest - Blinkin lovley twas ! well worth the £15 and not worried about the next long trip.
