Someone was in my back garden at my bike again last night. The sensor light over the bike was pushed up so as the sensor wouldn't detect any movement and the trelis on the wall beside the bike was broken where one of them thought it would hold his weight as he climbed out. The outside wall was all scuffed from where they climbed in. I say they because there was more then one set of scuff marks on the wall.

The bike itself was untouched thank god. Looks like the akmac chain did its job again.

Fingers crossed they won't be back.

Almax all the way. Top kit. I have two of them. You might want to put some sort of alarm in though. Personally I have two of those as well, one is blond and cute, the other is a big dark hairy fecker with huge teeth. Good dog, bad dog sort of thing. Works a treat, and keeps the riff raff at arms length. If you heard his bark, you wouldn't risk his bite.

I was thinking that. The misses isn't a dog person though. I'd have to talk her around and shes nerves now. One of her friends even said that the same thing happened her fellas bike a few thimes and he ended up selling it for her sake. Think she's getting ideas. Well its going no where.

sit up with a hurly/golf club and wait.....:D

better still some sort of 'machine' that can fire shotgun cartridges would be good....:D

they'll be back be equipped....

+1

A long wait and a Cricket bat........ :augie

with a nice Policeman on standby to 'have a word' with them after they've 'fell over' and 'grazed' their knees :augie

Cross all the digits you like, they'll be back. They're just weighing up what they'll need to bring in order to have it away.
I'd keep it somewhere else for a couple of weeks if I were you, like a mates garage. Maybe park a C90 there instead - they might think you've replaced it and look elsewhere.
You should upgrade your security today as well.

Get yourself a "bikebarn" and wire an alarm to it. As soon as they try and move the cover the alarm will go off.

just what i was thinking....... but it would be such a shame if the mine happens to swivel around as its activated and points upwards towards the wall as they climb over, or when they approach the bike it fires from behind them in thier direction.

A mate of mine had a similar prob and he put some rolls of razor wire at the bottom of the wall so when the poor darlings jumped over they got tangled in it. :thumb2.

Eric...these are a great job....
I have one fitted in my garage.................

You can also work with a piece of fishing line...a plastic sear....set of motorcycle contact breaker points....... and a high pitched car alarm....powered by battery or mains.....

Operating on the same principle as the mine alarm.............:thumb2

Things are getting dodgy where i live with the bikes now.....so Gomez has invested in some poacher traps....fire blank cartridges, all noise and no damage....except burst ear drums that is.:augie

One other suggestion is get some of the personal attack alarms and rig them around your garden with fishing wire....make around 150 db noise.
Or about some good old grease laddled on top of the wall/fence....local moggies won't appreciate it, but Billy the teaf won't get your bike either.

Good luck

A proper ground anchor concreted in place together with the Almax chain and a proper lock ought to keep it where it belongs. I can't see how anyone is going to get through a setup like that without making a serious amount of noise.

Putting in booby traps is all well and good, but if some 14 year old wannabe hardman ends up in hospital as a result, you'll be facing a claim for damages.

If you already have an Almax lock/chain/anchor kit, it really ought to need nothing more than a cheap alarm to top it off.

Mrs Og suggests

you mention walls -
how about non-drying paint on top? :nenau
nasty stuff, hard to climb on, ruins clothes. :thumb2
