Having lost the final drive at 22,000 miles....

....25,400 miles to date. Out in today's pouring rain, it seems like the gear position potentiometer has started to bite the dust. The bike no longer knows what gear it is in.

One month of warranty left, so the timing is excellent....:aidan

That could be your problem. Had a similar problem twice, first time after a fairly shallow river crossing & the second time in snow. Once it dried / thawed out everything was grand :thumb2

Aren't 1200 GSA great .. UNSTOPPABLE ..

... until you have to buy insurance for it ..
... until you have to get it wet ..
... until you have to take it out of the garage ..

Oh, without a doubt it's water getting into it....as others have found.

Tour Dad
Last couple of times mine has done that.
BVW have fixed it by plugging the bike into the big computer thingy in the garage and clearing the error codes.
