Thinking of buying a 14 plate GS but it's factory lowered and I want it full size.

As it says.. whats required to put it back to std? Its got 11K miles on it and selling for £8K... so maybe worth doing?

Front / rear shock?

side stand and ctr stand?

Is that it.. or are they changed in any other ways?...

Thanks

If you dont want a lowered one dont buy a lowered one

Changing it yourself .....

Have a look at how much the ESA shocks are and you might change your mind

guess so.. thought there may be some one wanting a swap of parts?? but what does that do for warranty?

Out of warranty anyway unless it is at a dealers.

If you want a full sized one then there are plenty about for similar money and miles ( i suspect)

Sure your right.. just know the owner of this one etc.... but as you say.. why bother if they are out there at the same price?..

Not worth the hassle IMO... find the right bike.

Well, I am not so sure....the rear shocks do go as we know....buy Wilmer's WESA instead....side and centre stand from your friendly Lithuanian and you have bike with much better suspension. Only worth it if the bike is a grand below standard spec bike.

yes.. may work out more than just buying one I guess.. also low seat but guess that would sell / swap... few nice bits on the bike... carbon add-ons, art can etc.. ??

How much are shocks (remote adjust versions) or are they all like thin now??

No idea what size you are, and never having sat on a lowered one myself so don’t know how different they are, are you certain that it won’t fit you as it is?

AJs bought a lowered one back off a mate as they had a customer for one, gave him a great deal on a standard height model.

6' on a good day... my 2010 std GS is a good size... would not want to go down in the world...
maybe someone buying a std one and finding it too high would swap the bits...

Actualy.. i guess I'm posting in the wrong forum?...

I think the weight of evidence suggests you need to find yourself a bike that fits you rather than convert one that doesn't.

What quality of suspension do you want?
Can you afford the cost of Wilbers units? They do dramatically improve the bike.

The ESA kit is the same on standard or lowered bikes so if you want the better handling then just get Wilbers shocks at the height you need fitted to the ESA gubbins from the bike.
Put another way, WESA is just Wilbers springs and dampers fitted to the BMW height and damping adjusting ESA system.
Talk to Revs Racing at Halesowen.

Used centre stand and side stand will not be silly money.

It all depends how well you know this particular bike and of course the price.

do we have any idea how much the shocks are??.. just a rough guide?

It is a nice bike with some nice bits... and I like the fact I know its history....

What would the shorter springs be worth??

Ive got my shocks lowered and changed to wilburs , so i have full size springs that you can swap on yours back to full height. I also have the full height side stand and center stand that you can put back to full height. if you are wondering on the condition of them. They came of nuttys of this parish 2014 GSA when i purchased his and got it lowered professionally at the guys REVS in the midlands so the lot has been sitting in the cupboard since.
