All I can say is make sure you ride it for at least an hour. After 60 miles today I had to take it back. It was a loan bike while mine was in for service.

It was soooooooooooo painful.

They've also taken nearly all the foam out of the seat too and while the GS now sits 4 or more inches lower than the standard it is so uncomfortable, I can't see many people crossing continents on them!

Another great idea badly executed.:(

I like mine - although the most I have done in one go (with a fuel stop) is 200 miles. The only thought I have had is that it might be a better option to have the lowered suspension with the standard seat - gonna see if I can borrow a standard seat for a few days to test the theory

Is it uncomfortable because of the lack of padding on the seat or the ride position, or is it the suspension settings?
And how tall are you?

I've done over 17,000 miles on the BMW low seat with no major problems. Not the most comfortable over about 250 miles, but compared to either my CBR or DR it's a sofa.

Horses for courses.

A bit of both really - but mainly the seat. I'm 6' and so sitting 4" lower meant my legs were bent more. But to be honest I wasn't getting any fatigue in my legs just my bum :(

I had a fiddle with the suspension but couldn't improve it. As far as I could see, travel distance was reduced too (which I suppose might be the case if you lower the bike) and hence the suspension seemed harder. Possibly because there's less room for squish before it "bottoms out"

I didn't notice much other difference to my normal riding position.

Oh, one other thing, - there's no adjustment to the rake of the seat, they've done away with that too. :nenau So you are left with a thin seat with little padding.

While I :clap BM for trying to make the bike available to more riders, I would recommend a thorough sit on the bike before you part with your cash - 'cos even today I don't really want to sit on a bike!:(
