As my boy is due to go to Afghanistan after Christmas I often find myself thinking about all our forces out there. I hope you guys don’t mind me starting a thread here to wish them all a prompt and safe return home and let them know we do all appreciate their efforts out there.

In many ways they are fighting a hidden enemy, which is unlike other wars this country has seen. Some people just don’t get it because of this, there aren’t planes flying over our country bombing out cities, there aren’t even many news broadcasts that clearly shows the enemy but most of us do recognize and applaud your efforts for our country’s safety, keep you spirits high guys I for one am extremely proud of you all and my thoughts and prayers are with you.

Happy Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:beerjug:

Happy Christmas to all the lads and lasses in the forces my thoughts are with you:bow:bow, and for those of you on foreign soil - come home safely.

The men and women in our Armed Forces? Some of the best in the world. :bow:bow

The politicians that 'control' them? VVankers all.

Safe home to all of our troops, wherever they are.

My grandson is over in Afganistan, as we speak, as he said when on leave at the begining of December, its what he's paid to do, and he loves doing the job, I just hope he comes back safe :nenau

Fine sentiments but an odd choice of section to post it in.

Perhaps it could be moved to a more suitable one?

Perhaps it's only meant for the sons and daughters of 1200 owners :nenau

Just had a look- the original poster isn't a site sponser, so has no idea of all the other sections on the site that are only available to sponsers.

The 'pub' would be the obvious but I thought that had to be a subcriber to post there.

BTW best wishes to anyone serving abroad this xmas - irrespective of the rights or wrongs of why they are there

Hope you don't mind the slight correction.
Safe home all our boys and girls.

Keep safe cousins of Marcus currently in southern Afghanistan.

With condolences to the families whose loved ones will be home for the last parade.

Turn to the right and get away Trooper Sadler.

so young.

Anybody near to Exeter tomorrow, please stop to doff your cap.
FUNERAL WITH FULL MILITARY HONOURS FOR SERVICEMAN
A brilliant life cruelly extinguished will be marked with a funeral with full military honours this week.Jack Sadler, who died when a vehicle he was travelling in was caught up in a roadside bomb explosion in Afghanistan, will be laid to rest on Wednesday at a funeral at Exeter Cathedral.

I have friends in Afganistan and a lot more are going next year.

I wish all the Troops there (everywhere) and going there a safe tour.

I take my hat off for Trooper Sadler, may he rest in peace.

It's no fun when you are away from your loved ones at Xmas, it's even worse when someone is trying to kill you.

My thoughts and best wishes go to all of our service(wo)men who are separated from their families this Xmas. I wish them all a safe return.

Regards

Cusi

Never sacrifice position for safety

So glad that people are thinking of our lads and lasses out there. :thumb2 Our son has just returned from Afghanistan and will be on leave over Christmas and New Year ( some are not so lucky ) then he gets married in January. However with the prospect of returning to Afghanistan in Feburary. Life has its ups and downs?

Merry Christmas to all out there and wishing them all a safe return.

Nearly done his 6 months, what a nightmare Afghanistan has become. He was home for his 2 weeks R&R and you could see how things have affected him. I really hope the Armed Forces are or have some good people in place to support our soldiers when they return.

I lost two friends in motorbike accidents when I was 19 and I still think about them. God knows how you deal with being next to your mate when he is taken.

Special thanks to all the lads of the Parachute Regiment your all bloody heroes and deserve to be welcomed back home as such alas this is one thing we don’t seem to have adopted from America.
