Thinking of swapping the XR for a GS !!

You really are deluded .
Push ahead with advancement ? By sticking with an engine from the 1930s which can’t be tweaked much more.
The 1300 uses a decade old TFT and they still refuse to fit backlit switch gear on a £20k+ plus bike .
The latest TFTs are bigger, have many more functions including built in nav and touchscreen, unlike the old BMW jobby.
BMW have finally joined the auto box route , yet it’s poor compared to the other manufacturers .
All they seem to be advancing are the number of bikes being left on the dealer sales floor and the number of owners leaving the brand .
The new boxer engine may be noisy but it certainly has torque in abundance and goes plenty fast enough for me .
The TFT may be old but its clear, easy to use and not too fussy unlike say a MS or a KTM
Backlit switches, not too fussed either way.
The amount of issues with the software etc is worrying .

Everytime I've been to Vertu there are always plenty of GSA's with sold signs on,not so many GS's mind you.

All Just my opinion of course.🙂

I sit in London traffic and watch 95% of other bikes fly through gaps that are half what a GS can get through

Old man yells at cloud

I get your drift........ But if you buy a new bike and maybe only expect to keep it short term, you wouldn't want to waste that time back and forth to the dealership. Or not trust it doing a Tour.
Fair point,
I have no frame of reference as I bought my only new bike in 2000 and still have it.

How long will Adventure Boy keep the,
“2026 Africa Twin Adventure Sport tri colour with the red front, manual, having top and bottom crash bars, spot lights, big sump guard, rad guard, tank side protectors, hand guard extensions, etc,” ?

  1. Two weeks,
  2. Two months,
  3. The End of the Summer,
  4. Over a Year,
O fuck I didn't realise my Wife was on here !!

whichever way you look at it or defend it I had a bad experience with the 1300GS and as such it went back before the time had elapsed for it to become a problem to, they all have had problems over the years, I even had a Suzuki that the gearbox went coming back from Scotland and that's not really heard of from them, my 1250GS was almost faultless and I had that for over 2 years, but that was one of the last 1250s the 1300 is gone Im happy ive bought another bike that hopefully I can trust but only time will tell !!

Suzuki GB reveal new 'up-to-10-year' warranty that covers new AND used bikes,

The smallprint states that after the standard three-year manufacturer warranty has expired, owners of Suzukis up to a decade old (or 70,000 miles, whichever comes first), can enjoy this additional warranty as long as they service their bike every year inline with the official service schedule, and at an authorised Suzuki dealership.

They had a 7 years warranty and Honda went to 5 years, hence 10 years and it keeps their franchises in work.

Going to be hard to go past…..

Lovely bike .

But not a GS unfortunately

Fortunately Id say from the experience Ive just had with a 1300GS, the same experience's many are also having, which is a shame
But you never rode it in anger did you ? New bikes have teething issues , sometimes you have to stick with a little pain to get maximum gain

He did ! He was very pissed off with it when it failed him on the first ride !! 😜

‘New bikes have teething issues ‘ - it’s been out 2 1/2 years . You’d think BMW would have fixed any teething issues by now !

Are you shagging their PR bloke or just seriously deluded ? 🤡

Don't know what you've ridden in the past @Adventure Boy but if not used to a sporty I4 motor 3 weeks isn't giving it much of a chance!

I bought an XR (mint low miles late 2023, all M spec options/extras etc) to replace my 2020 Superduke 1290R (sadly [I think it's my favourite bike ever] finally admitting that I'm too old with too many aches and pains to keep riding that).
After 20 years of riding v-twins it took me ages to adapt to the revy XR.... but I enjoyed the bike from the off. Handles like a dream, a hoot to ride but practical as well.

Just a shame for me that comfort is an issue so now looking at the 1300RS.
