Thinking of swapping the XR for a GS !!

You could not wish for a better guy to deal with than Andy at Miles Kingsport, real easy going no shit guy.
Yes I have still got it, and loving it,really should not have sold the last one and got the XR and deffo should not have traded that for the 1300GS
back on the same bike but 18 months newer, newer model with 6k less mileage and about £8k down on the 3 deals !! hey ho cant take it with you

Loved mine . Shame the Transalp is so crap as I’d love a slightly lighter , smaller version of the Africa Twin .
 
To be honest Martin I loves the Transalp but it always felt much heavier than it was maybe top heavy but I really do not feel that the Africa Twin is much heavier, strange but the steering on the TA seemed to feel a lot heavier especially moving it in and out of the garage, that mag have given the impression of it being heavy ?

Quick update
I am still waiting for my £450 refund for items not removed when the bike was refused, my cab fairs and the dealer goodwill gesture payment although I have emails from them stating for the last 2 weeks that the payment will be with me almost everyday
I have spoken to my Solicitor who has advised me to issue legal proceedings through the small claims court to recover the money and costs as the emails and the way they are written accept full liability of the failure of the bike, he said its a pretty much open and shut case, the Branch MD is supposed to be phoning me today but I wont hold my breath im off on holiday for 16 days from tomorrow I certainly wont let the £450 I am owes ruin a £5k holiday, I will deal with these fucktards when I get back may involve a visit up there for a face to face chat !! amazing how being fcuked about by one dealer can spoil what was in essence has been a very good experience over the last 26 years and 41 BMW's ive bought. hey ho it is what it is I suppose !!

Having dealt with Marshalls at Grimsby's sales team myself on more than 1 occasion I was very surprised at how well they appeared to be treating you.
Having seen how they appear to be treating you know I'm not remotely surprised.
Jess in the service team is excellent but the sales guys? Nah.
I'm sorry you're having this grief, hopefully you'll get it sorted ASAP.

You would think in these troubled times of war high interest rates and numerous motorcycle dealerships going bust over the past two years That salespeople would be bending over backwards to secure not only a sale but keep the customer happy and coming back .

To be honest Rob,reading your posts on how much you've spent on farkles and I'm guessing the amount money you must have lost on bikes over the years I would think 450 quid wouldn't worry you.

This guy decides to refuse the bike without even giving the dealer a chance to make things right, knowing the bike has all his crap on it. It's no fault of the dealer, in fact they have to go through the trouble of removing all that junk themselves. Now he's demanding they pay for for it, calling lawyers and threatening to spew his crap all over the media. He thinks he's solved his problems with a different brand but is now more miserable and bitter than ever. You get what you deserve in this world.

Bell end !! so what was I supposed to do swallow the £20 grand and hope they could fix the piece of shit, then keep sending it back and waiting a week for them to try again, I dont think so !!
I could not give a toss about the refund, but when someone offers it to you then fucks you about for it, thats what boils my piss, Im not bitter or or miserable at all, im very happy with my new bike and think myself very lucky i am in the position to have bought a new bike before i had even got the refund for the bike that went back, I wonder what you would have done ? maybe eaten the shit you were being fed from the dealer about it being repaired then after a month had a whole load of grief trying to back it as it went tits up again ? not for me fella life is too short to be doing all that, they are called your rights for a reason !! I have probably owned more bikes than you have even heard of, what was your point of spewing that load of bollocks, youve made yourself look a proper twat !!
