2014 model scrambler has caught my eye, £7.2k otr looks like a lot of fun...

Anybody have one, or earlier version?? Anything to stress about???

Will probably get a test ride, then maybe get one in December when the dealers are bored ...:D

Nooooo!

Everybody will have to buy one of those, you're a trend setter first it was harleys now Scramblers enouff's enouff!

Picked mine up earlier this year - great little bike and lots of fun.

You do need to junk the standard exhaust for an Arrow 2 into 1 and then there are loads of little Mods to make it go/handle and stop like it should ;)

Have a look here:

The Harley stays....that's going to grow old with me...

Was always going to buy another GS... But the Airheads are too expensive, and I already have the Harley as my project clunker..... I've had an 1150.... The 1200' do nothing for me...... I've realised I just don't need a GSA as I have little enough time, and if I go to Europe I like taking the Glide!!

As for the new 1200... 15k :blast.... not for me...

So, the glide is great on A roads etc, but I still love riding B roads....... If I continue as I have been doing..... The Glide and I will be visiting a hedge near you soon...... 3 tonnes, gravel, sloppy roads

Just thought a scrambler thingy would be good at that..... Also I can fit on one!!! probably look a right twat..... But I gave up stressing about that 30 years ago....:thumb

Saw a new Black 13 reg one North St Guildford yesterday, with the nobbled tyres and a 2 pipe exhaust looked really nice - never seen one in the flesh before:)

I wouldn't bother getting a new one. Better off getting something pre-loved that you can stick your stamp on :thumb

I love the Scrambler look but the engine had a different 270 degree crank to the standard Bonnie and despite being the same capacity (865) is a fair bit down on power. It may well be a better bet to buy an earlier (much cheaper) carbed Bonnie and have some fun making it yours

I was tempted when they first came out so took one for a long test ride and discovered the only place where they become a nice bike ......... It's when you're not riding it.

Pretty to look at parked outside the cafe:thumb

In standard trim I would have to agree ;)

You do need to do some work on them to turn them into a good bike which is half the fun of having one.

JB - way too cool for you I am afraid :P

A good friend has turned his carbed Bonnie into his own version of the 'Scrambler' it's become a great bike, used in the US twice, very cool and 100% reliable. Just needs a pair of FCR carbs :beerjug:

(Way out of JB's league for coolness:D)

The great thing is that any extras fitted you can ditch and sell

That particular bike has an accessory seat worth about £150, Rack £40, Pannier Rails £30. Even the OE speedo & revcounter are worth about £300 so you could swap them out fir a neat little chromed speedo etc

Get rid of all the OE shite and make yourself a nice little bike and there are some great sites about for 'borrowing' ideas from :thumb2

And a nice link here about taking a Scrambler and building a Desert Sled :D
