....because I forgot to take a picture of every f***ing evening meal to post up, along with a bloody map of each day and a stupid bloody graph showing elevation change ! Sorry ! Me failed !

Anyway, just a few observations and a few random pics.

Bike used- my KTM 950SE
Mileage-1778
Route- From Sussex up through Wales to Snowdonia, then ferry to Dublin and down to Kinsale to start tour properly and basically hug the coast as far as Galway then loop round Connemara National Park before heading back over on ferry and heading to Peak District for stop over before heading home.

So:

Wales-WET,Snowdonia hidden.Betws-y-Coed busy.
Kinsale v nice.
Sheeps Head-my absolute favourite,especially the northern side-KTM in it's element !
Beara Peninsula-beautiful
Ring Of Kerry/Dingle-bit overrated.
Connemara National Park-again stunning but a tad wet.

Best bit-Sheeps Head (for me-others hated the road as on wrong bike)
Best pint-Murphys from The Bulman in Kinsale-absolute nectar.
Best craic-the lovely ladies behind the bar at the Smugglers Inn in Waterville.
Biggest surprise-descending Winnats Pass in pissing rain and cloud-very uplifting !
Only bike to be 100% reliable-the KTM of course !

Actually I'm drinking Guinness in the pick with the stone !!!!

But here's another :

The Murphy's was still better though !!!

Yeah,okay,there's pics of alcoholic beverages.....

But why have you posted this in the Beakchat section ??

Edit - now moved to repose alongside pictures of pies and chips - GM

What make are the panniers you are using, neat set up for the bike.

That looked really nice. Great Pictures. :thumb2

The water looked a bit deep for your Bike. But, I guess it wasn't.

Was that hole in the stone made by Ancient Aliens?

Hallelujah and praise the Lord :clap

Errr, that road down Winnats Pass looks fekkin dry as a dry thing.

Cracking pics :thumb2

That's because the pic above was taken the following morning when we went back up to have a gander.(We were only staying 2 mins away in Castleton).

They are Andy Strapz Expedition Panniers.

VERY strong made from Aussie canvas. They are waterproof but I have his optional inner bags as well so I leave them on the bike.

I got them a few years back when the Aus $ was better but even now with the crap exchange rate they are less than £ 200.

He sells pannier frames but I got mine from some guy in the USA,but can't remember who.

You can see the panniers better in this pic.

Highly recommended.

They're what Sue used on her Yamaha TTR on our Iran/Pakistan trip ... great quality and very very tough :thumb

They faired much better than the godawful Trax panniers that Wunderlich gave me for the F800GS

Having just checked the Andy Strapz website for the first time in a few years,I see he now does a bag to fit on top, as well.

Might have to get one
