This is what you remove when replacing a clutch

autopsy

Bit like seeing the post mortem of a loved one, have you determined cause of death?

This is a part thats left in one piece -

the forks were in several parts -

and you can see the front wishbone is "slightly" out of shape

Is it going to be a parts donor or are you rebuilding it, Neil?

Might need a bit of heat on that front wheel before you start in with the hammer ;)

Was it seriously that clean Neil or did you steam it off before getting your lillywhites in there???

This was genuinely this clean, i never cleaned it , doubt if the bike has seen rain in it's life -

Yes, tuned in, it's your gearbox - if you want it .

:D ;)

Origins?

Looking at the little green sticker on top of the wishbone, could be a French bike? If it's French, and from down here, road bikes don't get very dirty..
My ADV is dirty, but it goes dirty places, and hasn't been washed since It's post-Picos hosing to get the cowshite off it..

stunning

Woo...
thats a great set of pictures Steptoe.
Thank You.
it IS true; a picture paints a thousand words.
now i know far more about how these thingies are put together.
(which is of use to *me* as every bike i ever get i think...
"now if i did have to pull it apart and put it back together....
could i??? )
Og.
