but I cannot locate it in a search.
I'm trying to use a Nokia 6230i with my Autocom. I got the attached gizmo, to convert the phone output port to a 3.5mm jack-plug, but this is only good for listening to radio, MP3 etc via the phone. If I have auto answer enabled, I can answer a call and hear the caller, but the gizmo doesnt have duplex/two-way so I cannot be heard if I speak.

I've thought of (=started) to butcher a nokia headset to patch up an adaptor, but its proving too troublesome - there are no less than 9 wires in the damn thing!

So, is there a similar gizmo that will allow me to actually speak and be heard via the autocom - the standard web retailers only seem to stock the bit I've already bought for listening, without needing to be heard. Perhaps Autocom make such a thing......but I have my doubts they can do this for every proprietry phone connector?. I did call them, but sensed that I didn't make myself clearly understood, so thru no fault on their side, I'm still at a loss.

I run starcom but same difference. They supplied a cable for my old Nokia to connect to the magic box. I enabled auto-answer as you have and had perfect conversations.

New Motorola V3 (garbage software) has Bluetooth so no cable for phone required.:nenau

Just thought, maybe you've got the vox control set incorrectly. This detects your voice and switches to transmit, if it's not set correctly you'll need to yell your head off to make it switch.

my adaptor is different it's just a block thing and I have terminator block in the autocom box job as well. All that matey said when I asked about was leave it like that and it'll be ok.

I'd go back to autocom get them to source answer I found them to be very good.

I think you have the wrong adaptor

speak to Autocom, the one you need looks like this

Paul, that adaptor is mainly desinged for music. To get your phone connected correctly you will need our Part 1248 £10 which will be an adaptor that looks the same as Hops.

Is what you need... Plus make sure the cable is in the correct socket in the autocom. From memory one is for using the phone as an MP3 player (AUX2) and one is for using the phone to take calls (AUX1). Plus the others of course for satnav etc. AUX1 is the one you need.

This will depend on what system he is running though dont forget, he could have a pre 2006 system where he only has one phone socket. Also to run an MP3 phone correctly a different phone lead will be needed for our later systems
