This takes the biscuit......

Probably trying to get away from his overnight lumber at the grab a granny night in Dundee! Woke up and realised she had bigger baws than him!

122MPH in a 40MPH zone, he's fecked me thinks:eek:

He's certainly fekked as far as the speeding goes, but a bike like that can, under the right circumstances/conditions, do that speed and more without automatically being 'dangerous'

That's the point isn't it :nenau

dual cabbgeway and not built up so it might not have been dangerous

but he wont get away with it

bit norty on the no show but if hes working maybe he shoulda told them he wasnt (technically) in scotland

Even more puzzling, "westbound" means he was going TO Dundee.

Have to admit though, that 40MPH limit does seem to go on forever... :D

...and the pedestrian footpath is indeed "inches from the road", but it's easier to measure in feet. Admittedly he was definitely a bit of a ar$ehole for doing that kind of speed, but there's a lot more open space around that road than the report indicates.

I thought the bypass (the best part of Dundee, ken?) ran east/west-ish?

Al

Looks like it was the main A92 which runs from the east end of Kingsway East (A972) in Dundee all the way to Arbroath (and beyond). It bypasses Broughty Ferry, for which I give thanks. :D

Surroundings

I must say the description of the area adjacent to the road in question is a bit rich!! - the hotel, nursery, nursing home etc are all well clear of this road and only accessed from other roads once you've turned off at a roundabout.
Same goes for the housing schemes on each side! - one is at least 200m up a road to the north, the other on the south side is also well clear and screened from the road by banking and trees.
This 40mph limit was ludicrous from the day it was announced - the same section of road had a 60mph limit on it when it was only a single carraigeway with t-junctions etc - before it was upgraded to dual carraigeway with roundabout-only access.
however, because it's an "un-natural" speed limit it it known to be well policed as it's a nice wee earner, and for that reason alone it was a crazy place to unleash a 'Busa:eek:

Cheers.....................Grizzly:beerjug:

"We saw the bike come round the roundabout overtaking cars in lane one, before accelerating rapid and hard. I locked on the speed device and it read 122mph."

I don't suppose they gave him any credit for braking rapid and hard - when he saw them.......... :augie
