This years moroccan dash is going to Istanbul

So any plans for when you are in Turkey?

No hard and fast plans, i think we will stop in eastern greece on the saturday night then travel to istambul on the sunday, via a small ferry that will allow us to approach the city from the south. thats as much planning as we've done:o

I'd take a guess we would have at least a full day in Istambul (mon) then move on and take in some sights, i'm not sure where Troy is but that was mentioned a while back, or we may bimble up the European coast for a while and see what it all about:nenau

Any suggestions/recomendations?

Turkey trot update.

Had a tx from waldin -

They left UK yesterday morning, arrived in Milan 9pm. That includes being "detained" an hour by swiss poliza .
And includes a mad Italian driver now having pannier height grooves along the side of his car.

And Number 6 called the night before departure and asked if any room for him- he's now on the trot, as Waldin said "nothing like a last minute decision to go on a 5000 mile ride" - Thats the ethos of a trot/dash.

Funny there was no mention of the Swiss Police when i was honoured with a brief phone call.

They were about to go on the P**s in Milan, just hope they make the ferry today.

That's because you get the censored version. :augie:D

Got a text from Burton at 10pm last night in Tesco said they had arrived.

Oh I was in Tesco in Taunton, he wasn't in Tesco Milan, not that they don't have Tesco's in Milan or do they, oh I don't know, anyway I got my shopping and they were there :thumb2

12 Tossers drinking champange in Milan, not the normal image of bikers !!!

Well the dirty dozen have all made it to the ferry and have just set sail. Accomodation will be a bit a come down from last nights 4* hotel, they are sharing 3 four berth cabins.

Well best go stock the fridge my house guests will be arriving shortly.

I want some of these stickers ,to put them up onto the bike. You can send me this site's stickers as well.I am new here and donno how these thingies go on around here.
If you are into sending some,i ll PM you with my address in İstanbul.

They have made it to Turkey, I would post the picture of the "Welcome to Turkey" sign but have no idea how get the photo from my phone to my computer. And to be honest as photos go not really that exciting.

Mrs S

I've been expecting a call to say they're coming into Istanbul, so I could go out and guide them into wherever they're staying, but I've not heard from them yet. Of course, my bike's packed up (fuel pump problem I think) so it'll have to be in the car if they call.

Anyone on this trip do a ride to Morocco with a guy called Kelvyn?

D'you mean Kelvyn Hicks......................?

If so had an adventurous tour to Morrocco with him - he mentioned he was riding to Turkey some time ago

That's him, yes. He did a bit more than ride here, he's now my neighbour.

There's also another Brit on here that's moved out this way. Maybe we'll do reverse adventure trips, and ride to Britain!
