Hmmm, nice in here, I like the worn leather wing backed chairs and oak bookshelves full of old manuals and magazines;)

I may come in here more often, could you pass the port please:ChrisKelly

It's no good.....I can't contain myself:rolllaugh

Oooo that's nice Mort - I know nowt about airheads, so some details would be good :thumb

The bloke has spent some money on it so the price has gone up a bit but after a shot of it I was smitten:comfort

I'm just working out how to tell my wife:augie

Oh! That's an easy one..............

You're closer than you think with that one;)

After looking at what can be done with an Airhead G/S I've been toying with one for a while to use off road. The prices have been on the up for a while but I have been in no hurry, after all, after hearing about this one I did nothing for nearly an hour:rolleyes:
Anyhoo, it's a R80ST of 84 vintage, it's been kept in Spain for the last 5 years and not really used much. It's in what I would call very clean condition, not perfect but a cracking basis for what I have in mind.
I had a ride out on it this afternoon and was really impressed with how hard it pulled, then really, really scared at how cr*p the front brake was:D
So I'm just going to use it as it is for now and if we fall in love then it's a strip down and make a GS replica:thumb2

Take a look at the left fork leg, you'll find you can double up the stopping ability :D

Something worth thinking about with the ST though. There's less of them about nowadays. People keep making GS reps out of them. :augie

When I lowered Jill's 100GS I put all the OE parts I didn't want in the attic, so it can be put back to it's original state when it's eventually sold on.

Thats the plan, nothing too radical but I do like the look with some modern plastics etc

you cant just bolt another disc on to a ST wheel it is too wide a hub
you can sort it with a hub off a different bike

I loved mine as it was and I recon/know there bike went better than a g/s
put next size main jet in = 140 . thats an instant boost for about 4 quid

ride safe

Hmmm....Modern plastics on an airhead, this could be interesting! The single disc on my GS works fine enough for me. I'm not planning to outbrake Rossi at any time in the near future:rob

When I say modern, perhaps I should have said more modern:rolleyes: as for the front brake depends on how you ride;)
