sorry for slow reply I have been away.
I got them from Ian Brown Tyres in Malton North Yorkshire google ianbrowntyres.co.uk and they were £254 inc vat fitted to loose wheels.

Thanks for the link to the tyre test. Yes, the Pirelli Scorpion 2 came out on top and there are some interesting comments about the Anakee 3s that I'm using.
They say 'the Anakee 3 has really good directional stability BUT low inherent damping when riding overs bumps, loud road noise, restrained agility on winding roads and little grip in the wet'. It came 5th.
It is interesting for me to note that they say it's not so forgiving over bumps since to me they jar over even shallow pot holes and would love to be rid of that aspect. It seems that the Pirelli is the way to go.

Asked my dealer for prices they can get them so appears that stock of conti has arrived , on other tyres they havnt been bad prices compared to "tyre places" plus they will look at forks to see if they need parts

Agreed.....had these on my GSA for 3500 miles now.....fantastic tyre, great in the wet, very stable loaded up at speed...fun and predictable in the twisties. No squaring yet.
 
My Anakee 3's are shot after 7k - flat and low on tread. I am changing to Conto Trail attack2 - loved them on my 990 adv. £241 fitted.

There is an interesting point here about the ROAD version. What I would like to see is a test comparison of Pirelli Scorpion TRAIL 2 versus the Conti ROAD Attack 3 i.e. So called trail tyres versus road tyres. I can safely say the vast majority of GSers don't go near trails apart from the occasional rough car park and probably would be better served by a pure road (sport/touring?) tyre.
Can anyone here add their experience to this trial tyre versus road tyre question on the GS?
There have been a number of comments about puncture vulnerability of say Mich. PR4s i.e.a road tyre. Maybe the trail tyres are more puncture resistant?

That's why we're talking about the Road not the trail version

My first big traily was a Varadero 1000 in 1999, I swapped the original dual sport tyres for Michelin Pilot Roads, they had just started doing 19"

I have been using sport touring tyres ever since on 2 Varas a Crosstourer and now my GS which was of course delivered with Anakee IIIs
 
The Scorpion Trail2 is the Pirelli AngelGT with a different tread pattern and name for marketing purposes. It is fundamentally a road tyre. I ride 97% on tarmac, and the Trail2 is never wanting for grip or feel. In fact, it is the responsiveness and feel from the Trail2 that I appreciate the most as it has the same sporty handling characteristics as the RossoCorsa/Rosso3s from Pirellis sports tyres.

However - I would also be willing to try the new Conti RA3, subject to price and availability as it is so new. The AngelGT and RA3 were equally matched in MCN's recent tyre comparison test with the AngelGT taking honours for the better handling tyre.

When I recently put on Trail2s again, I did so because Bob@FWR can't get the RA3, the Trail2 was cheaper, the tread pattern looks great and suits the GS :) ,and I never found the previous 2 sets of Trail2s wanting - even when running them at the Nurburgring to the edges, or navigating the trails in Ireland.
 
I did around 45,000 miles on two 1200GSA, entirely on Tourance Original pattern (laterly - Chinese Mfr), then changed to Michelin PR4.

Loved the Tourance for grip, but the PR4 made the bike more nimble, in addition to equal or better grip.

Mileage out of the rear (Chinese) Tourance was similar to the PR4 (4,500m -ish)

315 all inc ra3 265 all inc Pirelli so I'm going Pirelli as £50 is a decent chunk I'm no riding god so not probably going to notice the differences between them
 
Thanks leadfarmer, when bike picked: those were the sizes they gave for a GS, anyhow, I phoned them up and gave correct sizes, and all in price is £205 delivered. and free Tank Bag, they do same deal but have to order over the phone.
All let you all know when and if they turn up never used this company before, although was recommended to me.
