I’m done with commuting and bad weather riding, so I was considering getting a pair of reinforced jeans which may suit fine weather rides out etc. Any thoughts please? I’m looking for something comfortable and not bulky.

Rokker probably the best but come at a cost £349-£399.
Alternatives are available.
Just do make sure to get at least AA preferably AAA rated single layer jeans with ghost armour for best protection and comfort balance

These are the results Google has returned for the question I asked AAA motorcycle riding jeans 2025”

Mine are Roadskins I think
Look like denim but with Kevlar....

I found the knee armour wasn't in exactly the right place, so I abandoned the armour that came with the jeans and wear separate knee armour like this:

I was riding with a buddy who travels light on his multistrada, on warm trips he uses the jeans during the day, then just takes the armour out at night and wears the same jeans to the pub!

I have two old pairs of Draggin’ jeans, solidly made and worn most days for commuting but they are hot heavy denim and the Kevlar panels whilst thick grade and high quality only cover my arse and rear thighs in the assumption I’ll go up the road on my back.

If buying today, I’d look for better Kevlar/aramid cover including the front of thighs.

Check out the videos by that T**t in the Cap (other influencers are also available) on YouTube. To know the one I mean. He does talk some sense….

Brands aside , fit is everything. Make sure the armour sits on your knees, not below them ( like me a short arse) . The abrasion resistant fabrics used eg Kevlar Dynema don’t stretch as much as conventional textiles, so try then on, ideally sit on a bike or at least sit down and make sure everything is comfortable and the armours in the right places.

+1. And they look like everyday jeans when you are off the bike

I'm a Hood jeans wearer and have been for many a year, but feel the quality is not as good since they started to have them made in China.
I do still wear them though.
Have not tried any other similar brand to compare.

Knox Shield. I have two years in mine. Wee bit of stretch plus are a good cut. AAA rated.

Single layer with Ghost armour 👍👍
I think John Doe are tough to beat for comfort. Bull-it budget choice. Resurgence okay too. Tbh, topic is very subjective and depends on your shape. I’d recommend Sportbikeshop’s try before buy service. Just order 3 or 4 pairs of single layer and see what fits best.
I just bought a pair of John Doe denim jeans from Urban Rider and haven’t worn anything else for weeks cause so comfortable.

Roadskin Taranis single layer AAA rated jeans, with stretch fibres as well. Fit like a pair Wranglers. It's rare I wear anything else on the bike these days.
Like helmets, find a decent pair from whichever brand fits you best.

Really? Thats disappointing. British company

I’ve had Rev It, Draggin and Rokker jeans.
Rev it and Draggin both too thick in warm weather. The Rokker Rokkertech were good but the best I’ve found and now my ‘go to’ are the Rokker Cargo Pants.
So I guess they’re not a jean as such but much lighter and more comfortable than any jean .
I’ve worn them on my current trip and typing this from Portugal over 1200 miles done in last week. Its was 37 degrees at times yesterday and they were still bearable .

Not cheap though got mine half price in a Motolegends Sunday sale.

Are those Rokker cargo pants made from Polyethylene ? I notice it says UHMWPE ?? Presumably it’s fully tested an CE rated kit ?

If so, I’d be worried about the “plastic” material content melting under the heat of friction if sliding up the road.

The RN replaced all our uniforms/overalls containing Polyester fibres after the Falklands conflict for this reason, the kit had a great fit and was easy to launder but just fell apart or melted into flash burns due it’s plastic fibre content.

Yep, Rokker are the way to go. I’ve toured in mine, the waterproof ones really are waterproof, they look and fit like normal jeans.

Plus they come in multiple sizes and leg lengths,

The key is to get single skin, not Kevlar lined which are hot and look like someone’s stitched bits of denim together.

Motolegends is the place to look. I do have a pair of chino’s from there I bought in a sale, which are great - Pando, I think. They are so comfortable I wear them as normal chino’s.

Rokker come with Ghost armour, I think, but tbh I don’t usually bother to put it in for local use.

I made that mistake years ago. Only used them for one trip and binned them.

Mesh now.

Just started wearing a pair of the new Oxford "AAA"

A little heavier than I would like.....but I wanted AAA with type 2 armour.

However....

In warm weather...nothing will beat a good quality pair of mesh textiles, for comfort.
