OK...that's a pencilled in meet for the 25th September at Oban. Anyone else?
:)
Ronno
Or anyone with preferential dates?

So does that mean the 24th is definately out?
Ah b:censor: :censor: :censor: :censor:x!

Or The "24th!!???

Ronno,
The 24th equally ok for us - if the Rev Chuck can make the 24th and everybody else is ok with the 24th then it's an option?? - I don't want him having to use bad words again!!

...how does a trip to Oban sound? We thought about a meet at a pub in the area (anyone know any good ones?...G.C.?)

Ronno

How about heading south from Oban to the pub at Craobh Haven- The Lord of the Isles? Good food and the owner is a biker ( new Pan..)and if you want a bit of rough after lunch you can drive over the track to the other pub at Ardfern then back towards Glasgow on the Campbeltown road?

wully.

Sounds like a plan to me, nothing quite like a bit of rough!!! :thumb, I've posted a link below to multi map for those of us that don't have GPS (yet), maybe Wully can confirm this is the correct place.

Craobh Haven Sounds Good to Me!!

Good idea Wully,
I know the pub there, sounds fine. I also know the track over to Ardfern!! - showing my age now? - the Tartan Rally used to be held in the field in front of the big house on this track in the '70's!!!!! - in fact they lost the site as they started "building" Craobh Haven back then.
Anyway, Sat. 24th to Craob Haven sounds good to me :thumb

Cheers................Grizzly

Yup, that's the place and I might even be there if work allows. If you take the track over to Arfern you'll maybe see a couple of GS shaped dents in the track.

What route will most of you guys be taking? I've got a long weekend then and was thinking of going a bit further to make the most of the 4 days- was thinking of maybe Ullapool or thereabouts. I could perhaps take in Oban on the way back down- will be heading to Glasgow area. What time & place in Oban?

Gav, It looks like the Lord of The Isles pub as per Wully's post. Meet at 12.30/1300 hrs for lunch and a bit of craic. Hope you can make it.

Ronno

Ronno,
Hadn't noticed 2nd page to thread so hadn't picked up on location- also had not realised it was now the Saturday. May go by Oban on the way up the road rather than way back. I'll see nearer the time.

Reminder About Saturday's Run

Just thought that I would post this reminder to get the post back near the top of the threads.

The run is this Saturday and I think it's been agreed to meet for lunch at the Lord of the Isles Pub in Craobh Haven, near Oban between 12.30 and 13.00hrs. I for one am really lookin' forward to it. :thumb

Emailed you mate.

In view of the thread about Loch Awe and the splendid photos of this area, I suggest that after lunch we have a ride along Loch Awe on the B840 then pick up the A819 to Inveraray.

You only get the views on the B840 going west to east, first time I went along it was from east to west and I was so bored by the end I headed home. I'd loop down through Inveraray first then along the B840 from Ford to Cladich :thumb

Im planning on trying the A845 on the north side of the Loch soon.

BoinGGGG.

I had a chat with Ronno today and we shall be at the Green Welly at 10:30 tomorrow on our way up to Oban if anyone else wants to meet with us there that would be fine. :thumb
