I have discovered three flaws with my R1200 GS adventure after riding it today having a great fast blast.

1. It is true that once you ride it, it is hard not to want to ride it more. It is just so easy on you.

2. Great comfort, pee stops seem to be a thing of the past now and the height when looking over cars in traffic.

3. I rode back roads today that I used to ride on my GSXR1000. I can honestly say I was faster by a mile on the GS than my GSXR except on straight bits of road, I felt a lot more safer and more solid riding the GS fast and could see better through bends as height gave me a good advantage. Dunlop trialsmarts 2 I have to say grip very well. One strange thing kept happening to me when going through bends (my knee's kept sticking out). I must have looked a right "Herbert".

I have to agree with you, my 1200 gets me to the places I go faster than my old GSX1100 or for that matter my Hayabusa. For me its the solid feeling the 1200gs gives in and out of the twisties.

Ir's got the wrong forks and stcky out engine bits. Send it back.

Mine has suspension that really should be upgraded but it still handles better than the Yamaha I used to ride.

Was that an R1?

I wish. It was a Diversion 900 so not exactly a ballet dancer but with a half decent rear shock and R6 brakes it would hustle along nicely. The GS front end makes all the difference. A normal tele fork bike feels a lot less secure handling.
