Throttle back of to stall problem

Two days trouble free riding at not much above sea level. Technician Almeria suggests it's an altitude problem.
An adventure bike that struggles at 1000m? Hmm, surely something can be done in programming to resolve this?
Strange it ran magnificently to top of Sierra Nevada and back down 2500m earlier in the day. Altitude combined with heat? It was a rather pleasant 15c at the top.
Curious.

Mine doesn't like enthusiastic riding in the heat. The best answer i've heard is that it's the fuel pump overheating that has it's own thermal cut out. To fix this i just make sure the tank was always at least half full so the fuel cools the pump. Not a bind for me as i tend not to ride much more than a hundred miles without a break. No issues since and this summer across Europe was well into the 30's for most of my tour.

Re altitude; i think the plethora of sensors adjust for air fuel mix and without wishing to get into the acc module debate, i think they did their job very well through the alpine passes this summer.

Sadly i don't the UK will get hot enough again to test this with your bike. Good excuse for another Spain trip i reckon :thumb

Just latching on to this now. has a similar issue whilst riding at over 40 C in Croatia in July. Felt as though the bike was being starved. I immediately thought of the fuel pump and after keeping the bike in the shade for 10 minutes it would start up again no problem. A few twisties later and some enthusiastic jabs at the throttle and the problem represented itself. Keeping the tank at least half full killed the issue completely and once the temp dropped a little there was no problem regardless of the amount of fuel in the tank.
Wonder what the definitive solution to this might be though? A replacement fuel pump? Surely not one provided by BMW.
