My 1200GS was recently running like a complete dog. Tried everything to sort it - then I changed the rubber vacuum take off covers - the bike is now well back on song especially as I had previously very carefully balanced the throttle bodies. The bike felt all wrong out of balance and was down on power - the problem was the rubber was cracked and perished allowing air leaks. My advice is check the rubbers and if you're going on a long trip take some spares as these, as well as perishing can be eaily nicked.
