Hi Guys,

With the bike at idle about 1200rpm, if I then gentle increase revs it will shoot up to 2100rpm. There seems to be no in-between either 1200rpm or 2100rpm.

I popped the bike into Vines Guildford and they very kindly looked at the bike there and then. The technician took the bike away for a couple of hours, test rode it and told me what he had done “updated the software and balanced the throttles” but he was still getting that same problem as me and didn’t know the cause, but said ride it for a few days and see how you get on.

While as Vines they had another 1200GSA I asked one of the service guys to compare, there GSA was Ok so I think there is defiantly a problem but what?

Has anyone come across this or know what the problem might be.

Cheers

Ty, didnt you have the same problems a couple of weeks back, fixed but resetting the throttle as per the manual?

Maybe its a problems with the sensors or the system that monitors them???

Hi John

Yep same problem, thought it was sorted until I took the bike out for a spin. Think it may be electrical i.e Pot or somelike, will give this tread a run to see if anybody has any idea and then drop it back into Vines if no joy

Could it be as simple as a sticking or badly routed throttle cable ??

Cable has been checked routed all Ok and very smooth action. Any revs above 2100 and the increments are accurate; I think it maybe a dirty potentiometer but I'm not a bike technician bit of and electrical background and I know from experience what a dirty pot can do in an electrical environment.

Hi ya Ty, :thumb2

Shouldn't do mate as i'm sure plenty on here with 1200 or 1150 have fitted bar risers without problems.

I have bar risers that raise and pull back the bars and yes the cables are a bit tighter but no adverse effects on the throttle.
