Have used the search facility but not found what I need....

Heating element has failed so I intend tearing into it and finding the break, solder and rebuild. However, is the element wound round the bar or the throttle tube? If it's the tube how does the winding bridge the gap from switch housing to the twist grip?

Any pointers appreciated. Like to have an idea what I will find before I break out the hammers. :augie
(2008 GSA by the way).

Thanks

I think the element is built into the grip itself. Ie it's all within the moulded rubber. I looked into swapping my grips for some renthal ones and spoke to a bm techy. I was about to carefully slice them off with a razor thinking I could swap them without shagging the heating element.
'No can do', techy says, 'it's all built in'. :thumb2

I replaced mine with Renthal grip after removing old one with craft knife and repairing broken element with fuse wire and soldering up joint. Worked new grip into place with Ma Lady's finest Co-op hair spray. Works a treat and that was about 10 months ago.
